The semifinalist line-up consists of the second seed along with a veteran and a couple of young contenders. As ever, we at LWOT preview and predict both semifinal clashes for you. But who will come out on top?
ATP Winston-Salem Semifinal Predictions
Laslo Djere vs Marc-Andrea Huesler
Head-to-head: Djere 1-0 Huesler
This one is a tricky match to predict. While Laslo Djere has beaten Marc-Andrea Huesler in their previous lone meeting, the courts at Winston-Salem makes this match an even contest. The Serb has had to fight three setters all week so far and it looks likely it’ll be another one of those for the Serb.
Huesler has had a relatively easier path in terms of scoreline but not in terms of opponents. The Swiss is a dangerous floater at times this year and he’s proving to be an even tougher out this week. Expect Djere to start out strong but as the match progresses, the Swiss should have more in the tank to outlast the Serb especially after his statement performance against Jack Draper
Predictions: Huesler in 3

Adrian Mannarino vs Botic van de Zandschulp
Head-to-head: van de Zandschulp 1-0 Mannarino
The second seed Botic van de Zandschulp is the only seed remaining in the draw and anything less than a title win for the Dutchman will be disappointing by all accounts. He’s yet to drop a set all week and while that may not hold at week’s end, the victory is all that he’ll be looking for.
Adrian Mannarino produced a stellar return game throughout the match to thwart Maxime Cressy’s big serve and wrestle the match in his control. Apart from his first round, the Frenchman has looked solid this week and he should put up the sternest test the Dutchman has faced this week. All in all, it should be a great match with van de Zandschulp taking control of the rallies with his superior groundstrokes and higher consistency.
Prediction: van de Zandschulp in 3
