ATP Rogers Cup Day 4 Predictions Including Cameron Norrie vs Felix Auger-Aliassime

Felix Auger-Aliassime Roland Garros 2022

Day 4 at the ATP National Bank Open (formerly Rogers Cup) in Montreal will feature the Round of 16 on the men’s side, with plenty of exciting matches in prospect, including a rematch of the recent Los Cabos semifinal between Cameron Norrie and Felix Auger-Aliassime. The top three seeds of the tournament all lost their first match, but there’s still plenty to look forward to in the coming days. We predict all the matches, split between this and a separate article. Who do you think will win?

ATP Rogers Cup Day 4 Predictions

Albert Ramos-Vinolas vs Hubert Hurkacz

Head-to-head: Hurkacz 1-0 Ramos-Vinolas

Their one previous meeting was this year at Monte Carlo and even in theoretically favorable conditions for the Spaniard (who reached the final at that tournament in 2017) Hurkacz still prevailed with relative ease. The same is expected here, on a surface that clearly favors the Pole in this matchup. He should have far too much firepower for Ramos-Vinolas to handle.
Prediction: Hurkacz in 2

Daniel Evans vs Taylor Fritz

Head-to-head: Fritz 2-1 Evans

They played last week in Washington, with Fritz dominating before injury hit him and eventually forced him to withdraw. Assuming he’s back to full fitness, as seems to be the case judging by his performances so far this week, the Indian Wells champion should be able to prevail here.
Prediction: Fritz in 2

Gael Monfils vs Jack Draper

Head-to-head: first meeting

After a good run to the quarterfinals in Australia, injury has plagued Monfils’ season, but he has had a positive return to the tour here in Canada, winning his two first matches. This third match also seems very winnable; Draper produced a stunning upset against Stefanos Tsitsipas, but he’s new at this stage of Masters 1000 tournaments and Monfils should have the edge at a tournament where he’s historically fared pretty well.
Prediction: Monfils in 2

Cameron Norrie vs Felix Auger-Aliassime

Head-to-head: Auger-Aliassime 4-1 Norrie

Norrie got his first win in this matchup last week in Los Cabos, but it’s unlikely that he manages a second one here: Felix is still the superior and more talented player and he’s playing at home to boot and will surely be eyeing a maiden Masters 1000 title. His season hasn’t exactly gone to plan after his Roland Garros loss to Rafael Nadal in five sets, but the Canadian is still one of the brightest young talents on tour and should prevail here.
Prediction: Auger-Aliassime in 2
