Day 2 at the ATP Indian Wells Masters brings some exciting match ups. Let’s see who will come through in the Californian desert.
ATP Indian Wells Day 2 Predictions Including Brandon Nakashima vs Adrian Mannarino
Dominik Koepfer vs Benoit Paire
Benoit Paire has really struggled this year. The Frenchman is yet to win a match since the Australian Open, and is currently on a five-match losing streak. Though this will be Koepfer’s first match back since the Australian Open, the German should come through based on Paire’s current form.
Prediction: Koepfer in 2
Steve Johnson vs Daniel Altmaier
The American Steve Johnson has had a consistent start to his 2022 season. The current World No. 115 has consistently beaten players in the top 100 and has been knocking on the door to re-enter the top 100. It will be a good opportunity for him here at Indian Wells. Expect a great match between the pair, as Altmaier is playing some of the best tennis of his career, with a career high ranking of #79.
Prediction: Johnson in 3
Richard Gasquet vs Oscar Otte
Gasquet has historically performed well at the Indian Wells. The Frenchman has only lost once in the first round in eleven appearances. He will has a tough match against him, as Otte, like Altmaier, is playing some of the best tennis of his career. Expect a close match, but the Frenchman’s experience should pull him through to the next round.
Prediction: Gasquet in 3
Adrian Mannarino vs Brandon Nakashima
The pair played against each other last month in Delray Beach where the Frenchman won in three tight sets (7-5 in the third). The conditions will be completely different here in California, and that could play in Nakashima’s favor. Expect a similar close result, but perhaps the American getting his revenge here in the desert.
Prediction: Nakashima in 3
