ATP Santiago Day 3 Predictions Including Albert Ramos vs Carlos Taberner

Albert Ramos Vinolas in action at the ATP Cordoba Open

Day 3 at the ATP event in Santiago will feature four round of 16 matches, with half the lineup made up by Argentinian players. As has been the norm this week, some very tightly-contested matches are expected, with none of the four having a very clear favorite.

ATP Santiago Day 3 Predictions

Sebastian Baez vs Juan Ignacio Londero

Head-to-head: Baez 1-0 Londero

Their previous meeting happened at the end of 2021 in a Challenger event. The younger and up-and-coming Argentine won in relatively easy fashion. Baez has been steadily climbing through the ranking and showing some signs that he can establish himself as a regular ATP tour level player and he’s rightfully the favorite going into this one, although Londero can’t be underestimated on this surface.

Facundo Bagnis vs Hugo Dellien

Head-to-head: Bagnis 3-3 Delien

The head-to-head accurately reflects just how evenly matched these two players are, especially on this surface, where all six of their previous confrontations took place. It’s a match that could genuinely go either way, but the great from that Bagnis showed in his opening match might make him a very slight favorite going into this one.

Federico Delbonis vs Thiago Monteiro

Head-to-head: Delbonis 4-1 Monteiro

Delbonis has shown some very good form in these past few weeks, but was unlucky to lose to the eventual champion in both Buenos Aires (Casper Ruud) and Rio (Carlos Alcaraz) despite putting up a good fight. He has some momentum going into this week and will surely believe in his chances of winning a first ATP title since 2016. Monteiro is a steady player and not an easy customer on clay, but Delbonis clearly has the higher ceiling. Delbonis seems to be rolling right now so he should prevail here.
Prediction: Delbonis in 2

Albert Ramos-Vinolas vs Carlos Taberner

Head-to-head: first meeting

Ramos-Vinolas has some good momentum right now after capturing his fourth career title a few weeks ago in Cordoba, while Taberner has been struggling so far this season. However, that title win for Ramos came a bit out of nowhere and his general level has been far from impressive, so he’s only a marginal favorite here and an upset could well be on the cards.
Prediction: Ramos-Vinolas in 3
