WTA Cincinnati Day 4 Predictions
Barbora Krejcikova vs Garbine Muguruza
Head-to-head: Muguruza leads 1-0
Muguruza has been pretty underwhelming as of late. The former World No.1 was dumped out of Wimbledon early in the third round and failed to make any sort of impression last week in Canada. She will face a confident Barbora Krejcikova, who is currently is on a seven match winning match (fourteen consecutive sets won), who is surely the favorite coming into this match. It will be a close match, but with Krejcikova so ‘in the zone’ at the moment, she should prevail.
Prediction: Krejcikova in 3
Ons Jabeur vs Petra Kvitova
Head-to-head: Kvitova leads 2-0
A potential upset is on the cards here in this match up. Jabeur had a great run in Montreal last week–reaching the quarterfinals, losing to Jessica Pegula in three sets–and she reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon as well last month. Kvitova, though, has been up and down with her form. The 31-year-old Czech veteran has struggled to get wins under her belt after Wimbledon, and does not look comfortable out there on court. Even though she is yet to drop a set so far, but can she keep that level up for another match- something she has struggled to do as of late. Expect a good match, but Jabeur closing it out in the end.

Paula Badosa vs Elena Rybakina
Head-to-head: 1-1 tied
A tough match-up to say who will win as both players have had some inconsistent form leading up to this week. Badosa managed to string back-to-back wins a third set tiebreak already–against Martic and Sabalenka–so a big question mark is how Badosa physically feeling after two long grueling matches in the humid conditions. On the other hand, Rybakina has yet to drop a set all week and has not been pushed too hard, so surely she is the one feeling physically the more fresher out of the two. That could be the deciding factor in this match.
Prediction: Rybakina in 2
Naomi Osaka vs Jil Teichmann
Head-to-head: First meeting
Jil Teichmann is yet to drop a set all week, but will face a tough task ahead of her against World nN.2 Naomi Osaka, who is donating all her prize money to the Haiti earthquake relief efforts. The 23-year-old Japanese player had a tough opening match against the talented teenager Coco Gauff but came through eventually in three sets. Expect this match for Osaka to be more comfortable, and she should advance through without much problems.
