The 2021 WTA Parma Open semifinalists are set in its inaugural year. Big surprises have developed during the course as the top seed Serena Williams was eliminated in the second round. The player who defeated her Kateřina Siniaková made it to the final four players who are contesting for the title. Sloane Stephens has found her game as well as Qiang Wang. Coco Gauff continues to impress and is taking big strides to be at the top of the game. Here are the four finalists of the Parma Open.

Kateřina Siniaková
The Czech is enjoying a great week as she has made it to the final four players of the Parma Open. Her biggest achievement in the event has been eliminating the great Serena Williams in straight sets in the second round. She has yet to drop a set in the tournament and has looked the best that she has in a while.
Best known for her doubles success, the Czech has played very well in singles this week. She defeated rising star Clara Tauson in the first round in a comfortable fashion. Serena Williams has been the only player who has pushed her in a set as they went in a tie breaker. However, the Czech came out on top in the end and won in straight sets. Then, she defeated Caroline Garcia in a well fought first set.
Now she will face young American teenage phenom Coco Gauff. She has played the young American just once and lost to her last year in Ostrava. She will look for revenge as she is on a winning streak. Nonetheless, she has played very well in singles and should continue to improve and be in fine form for the French Open.
Coco Gauff
The young teenage American is playing some incredible tennis now. She is coming from making it all the way to the semifinals at the Italian Open. Now she is in another semifinal and has a shot to reach the final. Gauff has yet to drop a set so far during this tournament. The only player that really pushed her was Kaia Kanepi in the first round. They went to tiebreakers in both sets, and the American came out victorious in that match.
After that she defeated Camila Giorgi in straight sets in a comfortable manner. The Italian could not match the power of the American and the teenager ran through to the next round. She then met her fellow compatriot Amanda Anisimova in an all-American battle.
The younger of the Americans came out on top as she proved to be too much for Anisimova. Next, she will face Kateřina Siniaková who she beat last year in Ostrava in their only previous encounter. The young teenager is playing amazing and is heading the right way for the French Open.
Sloane Stephens
The 2017 US Open champion is finally having a great week. She reached the semifinals of a tournament for the first time this year. No doubt this will boost her confidence as she is playing her best tennis in a long time. In the first round she played a tricky opponent in fellow compatriot Caty McNally. She won the match in straight sets and booked herself a match against Daria Kasatkina next.
The Russian was the only player to take a set from the American thus far. They both fought until the end, but the American proved to be the better player in the end. Next up was Sara Errani who is a good clay player. That was not the case against the American as she easily beat the Italian in straight sets and produced a bagel the Italian in the last set. Now, she will play Wang Qiang in the semifinal and will try to beat her for the first time. She will try to continue to play well and bring her A game in her next match.
Wang Qiang
The Chinese player has not had some great results throughout the year. Finally, she has managed to string some wins and has been playing great all week. In the first round she defeated Misaki Doi in three sets. Then, she defeated Martina Di Giuseppe in her home country. This was the easiest win yet as she won in straight sets.
After that she played a thriller against Petra Martić. This match went the full distance and both players played some high-level tennis. The first set was so close that it was decided in a tie breaker where the Chinese player won. Then the Croatian bounced back in the second set and took it with some force. The final set was even like the first, but the Chinese player managed to break her opponents serve and served for the win.
Now she has booked herself a match against Sloane Stephens in the semifinals. She has played the American twice and is undefeated against her. Although, those matches were on hard courts and they were back in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Nonetheless, she is playing well and will try to bring her winning game to her next match.
Entertaining Semifinal Matches
Both matches look like they will be full of entertainment as the four players have provided high quality tennis all week. For its inaugural event, the Parma Open has delivered and will have two great semifinal matches. All four woman have been playing great the whole week and will try to continue just that to reach the final.
