Bianca Andreescu vs Ash Barty: Paths to the Miami Open Final

The 2021 Miami Open final is set and two of the best players will meet on the big stage. Each player had to battle through and overcome the obstacles that were in their way. Now that the final is set between Ashleigh Barty and Bianca Andreescu. here is how they got to the 2021 Miami Open final.

Ashleigh Barty

The World No.1 started off the tournament having to really dig deep in her first match. She faced elimination, but came through in the end. Kristína Kučová really pushed Ashleigh Bart and forced her to produce an incredible comeback. Eventually, the Australian came on top in the end and showed the world why she is the World No.1.

In her second match she faced a tough and tricky opponent in Jelena Ostapenko. However, the young Latvian was no match for the Australian who beat her in straight sets to advance to the next round. Next, she faced Victoria Azarenka who proved to be another tough match for Ashleigh Barty. Both players took a set from each other and in the deciding set, the Aussie ran over the Belarusian.

Another heavy hitting Belarusian player came in the path of Ashleigh Barty. On this occasion, it was Aryna Sabalenka who was playing lights out tennis. Once again the Australian dropped  a set, but in the third and deciding set she showcased her best tennis and took the match.

Her semifinal opponent was Elina Svitolina, who was playing some remarkable tennis. Despite that, she was not able to produce her best tennis against Ashleigh Barty. The Australian proved to everyone that she was the better opponent in the match and took it in straight sets.

The young Canadian started off the tournament with a tricky opponent in Tereza Martincová who looked like she was going to take the first set quite comfortably. In spite of her great tennis, Bianca Andreescu rallied back and forced a tie-breaker and snatched up the first set. In contrast to the first set, the Canadian ran over the Czech and took the second set and match comfortably.

Her second match was a thriller against young teenage star Amanda Anisimova. The young American forced the Canadian to play her best tennis and produce and incredible win. After this came in form Garbiñe Muguruza. The Spaniard took the first set, but Bianca Andreescu fought back and took the next two sets in an impressive form.

Another Spanish player was in her path, Sara Sorribes Tormo, who was also in form by winning the Abierto De Guadalajara and reaching the semifinals in Monterrey. Once again the Canadian had to play three incredible sets to get the win. Her semifinal match against Maria Sakkari was another three set match. She took the first set but lost the second one, and finally took the deciding set in a tiebreaker.

The Final Is Set

The 2021 Miami Open final is set between two in-form players. Both ladies are producing some great tennis and have had to overcome some tough opponents along their journey. Many people were unsure of how both players would be coming into this event since they had not played that much tennis as of recent. However, both players have picked up where they left off and the Miami Open final looks to be a thriller. Will the reigning champion and World No.1 defeat a red-hot Canadian? We will see as this will be their first meeting that will certainly have everyone talking about.
