ATP Dubai Day 2 Predictions Including Jeremy Chardy vs Alex de Minaur

Alex De Minaur Antwerp 2020

Day 2 at the ATP Dubai Duty Free Championships features many in-form players such as Marton Fucsovics, Jeremy Chardy, and Alex de Minaur. Let’s have a look in who will advance and who will fall? We also have predictions for Monday’s other matches.

ATP Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships Day 2 Predictions

Marton Fucsovics vs Vasek Pospisil

Head-to-head: Fucsovics leads 1-0

Fucsovics had an impressive run to the final in Rotterdam two weeks and injury forced him to withdraw in his quarterfinal in Doha. The 29-year-old Hungarian, if he is injury free, will have no trouble against Pospisil here in Dubai. The 30-year-old Canadian has only managed to win one match so far this year.
Prediction: Fucsovics in 2

Mikhail Kukushkin vs Jan-Lennard Struff

Head-to-head: Kukushkin leads 1-0

Struff has struggled with form in his past few matches. The German is currently on a four-match losing streak, which is rather surprising considering he had a strong 2020 season. Kukushkin, coming from qualifying, has already had two matches under his belt here in Dubai. Expect him to use that momentum and get through Struff in a tight three-setter.
Prediction: Kukushkin in 3

Marco Cecchinato vs Richard Gasquet

Head-to-head: First meeting

Cecchinato has struggled in his 2021 campaign. The Italian has only managed to win one match in the seven matches he has played this year and will be a tough one against the experienced Frenchman. Gasquet, on the other hand, had to withdraw from his Doha match against Rublev, so the question is whether Gasquet is fully fit or not. If the 34-year-old Frenchman is fit, he should get past Cecchinato without any issues.
Prediction: Gasquet in 2

Jeremy Chardy vs Alex de Minaur

Head-to-head: Chardy leads 1-0

This will be a close one. Two in-form players going head-to-head. The 22-year-old Australian should have the slight edge coming into the match because Chardy can be a bit up and down, whereas de Minaur tends to compose himself a bit more and is much more consistent in terms of results. de Minaur will be wary of the challenge Chardy poses, but should advance. Expect a good battle.
Prediction: de Minaur in 3
