The third Grand Slam of the season at Wimbledon is understandably dominating the conversation across the tennis community, and retirement announcements rarely command the same attention. But away from the spotlight of the All-England Club, three players have officially retired from the sport in the past month. We also wanted to acknowledge Egor Gerasimov’s official retirement at age 33, which was regrettably missed in our May article.
Three Tennis Players Retire in June 2026
1. Katy Dunne
Katy Dunne retired from tennis following a first-round loss in Wimbledon qualifying. The 31-year-old WTA player was once a top junior prospect but struggled with injuries at the top level and never reached her full potential. She achieved a career-best ranking of World No. 212 in singles. Dunne won 9 ITF titles during her 13-year playing career.
2. Fabrice Martin
French ATP player Fabrice Martin retired after the 2026 French Open. He played his final match in the men’s doubles tournament at his home Slam with Adrian Mannarino and the pair lost in the first round. Martin was a doubles specialist for most of his career and was ranked in the Top 20 in that discipline. He won eight career titles in men’s doubles and was the runner-up with countryman Jeremy Chardy in the 2019 French Open doubles final.
3. Alice Robbe
French WTA player Alice Robbe announced her retirement on Instagram. She played her final match in a losing effort in the first round of qualifying at the Rouen Open back in April. The 26-year-old peaked at No. 190 in the rankings and won three ITF singles titles.
Egor Gerasimov – May 2026 retirement
Egor Gerasimov announced his retirement on Instagram a couple of months ago. The Belarusian reached one ATP final during his career (2020 Pune, lost to Jiri Vesely) and won six Challenger titles. Gerasimov reached a career-high of World No. 65 in 2020. He earned $2.1 million in career prize money.
