Mirra Andreeva with the 2026 French Open trophy.

WTA Wimbledon First Round Best Bets Including Magda Linette vs Mirra Andreeva

WTA Wimbledon first-round play begins. For many, this is the crown jewel of all tennis tournaments, known locally as The Championships. The women’s tournament begins with Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina as the top two seeds. Still, they are not playing well and are not entering the All-England Club with much of any confidence. Iga Swiatek is the defending champion but is not playing well, either. There are a lot of questions in the women’s tournament, and there is a real chance the tournament will be as unpredictable as the French Open was a few weeks ago, with Mirra Andreeva playing Maja Chwalinska in a very unexpected final. What will happen at Wimbledon? There’s a lot of uncertainty, which should create a very exciting tournament. LWOS has our best bet for three matches. Post your best bets and thoughts in the comments.

Bouzas Maneiro – Potapova: 11:30 EST

H2H: 0-1

The WTA Wimbledon tournament begins with a fascinating first-round match. Anastasia Potapova is a top-30 player, but she achieved that top-30 ranking by dominating the clay season. She won 17 clay matches in the clay season, making important finals and semifinals to climb several dozen spots in the rankings. Since she came to grass, however, she has struggled. The transition from her best surface to a surface she barely plays on has been impossible to avoid noticing. Potapova has played three grass matches this month, winning only one. Her opponent, Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, hasn’t been amazing on grass, but she has been better than Potapova, going 3-3 in six matches. Bouzas Maneiro has lost to talented grass players: Madison Keys, Ajla Tomljanovic, and Emma Navarro. Yet, Potapova has been installed by the markets as a clear favorite. Will she back it up in this WTA Wimbledon first-round match?

Best Bet to Make

The WTA Wimbledon betting angle for this match is simple: Anastasia Potapova attained her high ranking by playing extremely well on clay, her preferred surface. Potapova is someone who should be trusted on clay, but not on grass. Potapova moneyline carries a relatively generous price, given how mediocre she is on the surface. However, Bouzas Maneiro moneyline is an amazing value given how realistic it is that she can win this match outright. What you could do here is sprinkle a small amount of money on over 2.5 sets, expecting a prolonged battle between two players in what should be a close match. However, for our recommended bet, keep it even simpler: Bouzas Maneiro to win.

That being said, betting on Bouzas Maneiro winning is a value bet for sure.

Yastremska – Ito: Time 11:30 EST

H2H: 0-0

Dayana Yastremska and Aoi Ito have not had good 2026 tennis seasons. Yastremska made the Australian Open semifinals and reached a career-high ranking of No. 21, but she has not been able to live up to that standard the past two years. She is 15-16 in 31 professional matches this year. She has not been consistent and has lost three of her last five matches. She is 2-2 in four grass matches this season. Aoi Ito is 8-14 in 22 professional matches this year. She is 1-4 on grass and has not been able to gain any traction. Two struggling players meet in the first round of WTA Wimbledon.

Best Bet to Make

These two players are not trustworthy from a betting standpoint, but Yastremska is clearly the better and more talented player, so betting on over 2.5 sets doesn’t seem like a good bet for this WTA Wimbledon situation. If the players were more equal in their talent and results, that might be a good idea, but that’s not the case here. Yastremska to win in straight sets doesn’t quite provide enough value for us to recommend that wager, so you will need to go to the game spread. The 5.5-game spread is very evenly priced. We advise you not to wager a large amount of money or your customary amount of units on this match, but if you do bet, lean Yastremska, who should be able to take charge of the match and hit the ball where she wants to.

That being said, betting on Yastremska -5.5 games is a value bet for sure.

Linette – Andreeva: Time 11:30 EST

H2H: 1-3

Mirra Andreeva comes to Wimbledon after winning her first major championship at Roland-Garros. Winning seven matches in two weeks to lift a major trophy is a special experience. Andreeva made what seems to be the smart decision not to play much tennis on grass over the past three weeks. She needed time to emotionally and physically recover. She didn’t need to get right back on the court and play more tennis. Coming to WTA Wimbledon with a major trophy in hand, Andreeva should be confident, even though her grass game isn’t as good as her elite clay game. Her opponent is Magda Linette, who is 3-1 in four grass matches this season, beating Zeynep Sonmez along the way.

Best Bet to Make

The possibility of Andreeva losing focus on grass after her Roland-Garros championship is very real. However, Andreeva is a very confident player right now. She was not confident at all on hardcourts in March when she lost early in Indian Wells and Miami, but she is a different player now. She is a better and more skilled player than Linette. As long as she plays a reasonably good match, she should be able to win in straight sets. The price is just barely good enough for us to recommend it.

That being said, betting on Andreeva winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.
