Barbora Krejcikova Celebrates Winning Wimbledon Semifinal

WTA Hertogenbosch Final Best Bets Robin Montgomery vs Barbora Krejcikova

The WTA Hertogenbosch tournament concludes on Sunday. Robin Montgomery began the week ranked World No. 484, but she has made her way through two qualifying matches and four rounds of the main draw to reach her first-ever WTA final. Standing in her way at this 250-point event is former Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova, who has looked very solid all week in the Netherlands and hopes to add a singles trophy to her collection of titles. There are only two weeks left until Wimbledon, so here is a precious chance for both players to win a grass title and build momentum heading into the year’s grass major tournament. LWOS has our best bet for the final. Post your best bets and thoughts in the comments.

Montgomery – Krejcikova: Time 6:00 EST

H2H: 0-0

Barbora Krejcikova versus Robin Montgomery is a fascinating matchup at Hertogenbosch. Montgomery enjoys playing on grass. She shows up for grass season and makes herself difficult to play against on the surface. This week in the Netherlands, she has played and won six matches. She has won her last three matches in straight sets. She has beaten Daria Kasatkina (qualifying) and Ajla Tomljanovic (semifinals), among others, to reach this stage. She entered the week ranked No. 484. She enters this final No. 240 in the live rankings and will get inside the top 200 with a win here, so this is a huge match and moment for her in a first-ever WTA Tour final at Hertogenbosch.

Barbora Krejcikova could have played in the 500-point Queen’s Club WTA Tour event, but she chose Hertogenbosch, a 250, because she wanted a better chance of playing a full week of tennis and getting the match play and rhythm she needed before Wimbledon. That turned out to be a very wise choice, because Krejcikova has gotten the maximum amount of matches out of her week at Hertogenbosch. She has won four and will play a fifth match. She looks like a player who is in form and ready to make a run at Wimbledon in a few weeks.

Best Bet to Make

Montgomery isn’t just winning matches as an underdog; she is controlling them. She has won her last three matches in straight sets. She is very confident and comfortable right now, so a lot of people will very reasonably pick her to win at least one set. Betting on Montgomery plus 1.5 sets or betting on over 2.5 sets are very logical choices here, and if you do make one of those two wagers, you’re using a valid thought process. However, Barbora Krejcikova is a much better player than anyone Montgomery has faced so far at this tournament. She is a former Wimbledon champion, so she knows how to handle grass conditions early and late in a tournament. She is an in-form player who has been winning a lot of straight-set matches herself. Montgomery might be worth trusting, but so is Krejcikova. Then add the fact that Montgomery has played six matches over the past week in Hertogenbosch, while Krejcikova has played only four. Krejcikova should be more rested and in a better position to play her best tennis. Krejcikova in straight sets is the play.

That being said, betting on Krejcikova winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.
