Barbora Krejcikova vs Robin Montgomery

Head-to-Head: first meeting

Krejcikova defeated Magda Linette for the fourth time in five meetings to reach the Den Bosch final. It’s the Czechs’ first final at the WTA level since lifting the Wimbledon title back in 2024. Krejcikova played flawless and effortless tennis in each of her first three matches this week, but faced a sterner test in the semifinal against Linette. The Pole had beaten Krejcikova in their last WTA meeting in Strasbourg last season and was a game away from taking the match into a deciding set. But the two-time Grand Slam singles champion finished strongly and prevailed 6-3 7-6 in just over two hours.

Robin Montgomery has enjoyed a superb week in Den Bosch. The 21-year-old American has advanced to her first WTA final with a commanding 6-4 6-2 victory against Ajla Tomljanovic. She started this event from qualifying and tallied some impressive wins in the main draw over Daria Kasatkina, Greet Minnen, and Daria Snigur. It’s precisely a year since her 2025 campaign came to a premature end on grass courts. After undergoing wrist surgery in the second half of last year, the 21-year-old has played herself into form on the same surface.

The gulf in experience is enormous in the WTA Den Bosch final. Krejcikova is a proven winner with multiple Major titles and plays with so much flair and creativity. But Montgomery has served brilliantly in the last two matches, barely facing any break points and racking up the ace count. It’s a tall order for the young American, but if she embraces this moment better and plays with freedom and a sense of opportunity, she could complete a remarkable full-circle story.

Prediction: Montgomery in 3
