Aryna Sabalenka in action at the French Open.

French Open Day 7 Predictions Including Aryna Sabalenka vs Daria Kasatkina

The third round wraps up on Day 7 of the French Open, and we will be treated to eight women’s singles matches that will finalize the Round of 16. As always, our team here at LWOT will share their thoughts on all of the matches. We split the eight matches between two articles, with the other one featuring Naomi Osaka vs Iva Jovic. Predicting these matches are Tope Oke, Ilemona Onekutu, and Amanda Bergman. Who do you think will win?

French Open Day 7 Predictions

Victoria Mboko vs Madison Keys

Tope:
Victoria Mboko and Madison Keys are set to light up Roland-Garros with a full-throttle power battle. Expect momentum swings, heavy hitting from both wings and another dramatic three-setter, with Mboko narrowly edging the showdown once more.
Prediction: Mboko in 3

Ilemona:
Victoria Mboko dropped the first set against Siniakova before winning 5-7 6-4 6-2, showing she can fight back but arriving with more court time than Keys. Madison Keys was efficient in a 6-4 6-4 win over Ruzic. Keys is a seasoned Grand Slam performer and a genuine threat when her flat power game clicks on clay. Her experience and cleaner run through the draw give her the edge here.
Prediction: Keys in 3

Amanda:
Madison Keys is quietly picking up form and utterly dispatched her first two opponents at the French Open. While Victoria Mboko had a dominant first round, she struggled in her second-round match against Katerina Siniakova. Keys’ inconsistency could hinder her, but based on recent form and history at this tournament, Keys can pull off the upset in what should be a close match.
Prediction: Keys in 3

Amanda Anisimova vs Diane Parry

Tope:
Amanda Anisimova has barely broken sweat so far, helped by Julia Grabher’s retirement, so there are still questions about how she’ll respond if dragged into a tight battle especially against Diane Parry, who can blunt Anisimova’s power and feed off the home energy. Even so, the American remains the likelier winner.
Prediction: Anisimova in 3

Ilemona:
Amanda Anisimova dispatched Grabher 6-0 before her opponent retired, meaning she arrives with minimal match time under her belt. Diane Parry upset the 30th seed Ann Li 6-3 6-4 in a confident display and has the Paris crowd behind her in what is her best-ever Roland Garros campaign. Parry’s form and home advantage make this a genuine contest, but Anisimova’s power still gives her the edge.
Prediction: Anisimova in 3

Amanda:
Diane Parry lost her first set of the tournament 6-0 and came back from there, but she hasn’t yet played someone as strong as Amanda Anisimova. Anisimova received a retirement in the second round and will be fresh and rested heading into this match, and though the crowd will be against her she should be able to outhit Parry and come through this fairly quickly.
Prediction: Anisimova in 2

Anna Kalinskaya vs Camila Osorio

Tope:
Camila Osorio has already rattled one seed this week and she’ll fancy her chances of doing it again against Anna Kalinskaya who has looked impressive so far, but this feels far from straightforward for the Russian. Another upset could very easily be on the cards.
Prediction: Osorio in 3

Ilemona:
Anna Kalinskaya advanced in straight sets, while Camila Osorio came through a gruelling three-set battle against Putintseva. The physical toll of that match is a real factor heading into this fourth-round clash. Kalinskaya’s flat, aggressive game is harder to handle on clay than her ranking might suggest, and Osorio’s depleted legs could limit her ability to grind as she usually does. Kalinskaya’s fresher legs and current form give her the advantage.
Prediction: Kalinskaya in 3

Amanda:
After barely getting past Yulia Putintseva in the second round, Camila Osorio will have to face Anna Kalinskaya, who has equally strong ballstriking but is far more consistent. Osorio has the potential to make this an upset, but in this matchup she can’t afford to let opportunities slip by the way she did against Putintseva.
Prediction: Kalinskaya in 3

Aryna Sabalenka vs Daria Kasatkina

Tope:
Aryna Sabalenka has dominated this encounter, winning seven of their nine meetings. Even on clay where Kasatkina’s variety and movement should thrive, Sabalenka has already beaten her twice, including at Roland Garros and the Belarusian looks primed to bulldoze her way into the next round once again.
Prediction: Sabalenka in 2

Ilemona:
Aryna Sabalenka has been clinical through three rounds, winning 68% of her first-service points and converting half of her break points in her most recent outing. Daria Kasatkina came through a tense battle against Bandecchi, which means she arrives with more mileage in her legs. Kasatkina’s variety and slice can disrupt rhythm on clay, but Sabalenka’s power on this surface is difficult to contain over a full match. Sabalenka’s superior form and freshness should carry her through.
Prediction: Sabalenka in 2

Amanda:
Daria Kasatkina has been impressive in her return to the court, but her French Open run is likely to come to an end here as Aryna Sabalenka is too imposing of a challenge. Sabalenka has a relatively disappointing clay season, but she’s been dominant in her first two matches and hasn’t lost to Kasatkina since 2022 and has never lost to her on clay.
Prediction: Sabalenka in 2
