Emma Navarro before WTA Nottingham

WTA Wimbledon First Round Best Bets Including Emma Navarro vs Paula Badosa

WTA Wimbledon first-round play continues on Tuesday. Whereas the other three major tennis tournaments play their first round over three days, Wimbledon does it in only two. Wimbledon doesn’t play main-draw tennis on a first Sunday. The tournament actually modernized in recent years by having play on the so-called “Middle Sunday.” The two-day first round means Tuesday’s schedule is jam-packed with matches. We’re going to bring them to you and give you a lot to think about as you consider your next play and your next set of parlays as well. Let’s look at the Tuesday card. LWOS has our best bet for three matches. Post your best bets and thoughts in the comments.

Starodubtseva – Blinkova: 9:30 EST

H2H: 1-1

This WTA Wimbledon tournament has some matches which will get a lot of attention. This one won’t get as much, but it’s an interesting betting test nonetheless. Yulia Starodubtseva is playing in this WTA Wimbledon showcase after a productive spring on clay in which she beat Elena Rybakina. Of course, clay is Rybakina’s worst surface, but that’s still a really good win. Starodubtseva is another player who will be challenged to take some good and encouraging clay results onto grass and try to build some consistency. Here’s where it gets really interesting. Starodubtseva is the clear betting market favorite (1.66 moneyline) despite the fact that Anna Blinkova has five grass match wins this season, compared to just one for Starodubtseva. Most people will naturally assume Blinkova is the better lawn tennis player, but Starodubtseva is getting the love from the markets.

Best Bet to Make

The fact that Starodubtseva beat Rybakina a few weeks ago might get the attention of some bettors. Starodubtseva competes well and can put up a real fight. However, Blinkova is the better player on grass, with clearly superior results during the short grass season going into this WTA Wimbledon first-round match. It would seem that folding Blinkova plus 1.5 sets into a parlay at 1.55 makes a ton of sense. Then, on top of that, you could either go with Blinkova moneyline for a really good price (2.21) or over 2.5 sets. We’re going to go with over 2.5 sets because Blinkova just has to win one set to make that a very possible occurrence. She doesn’t have to win both sets.

That being said, betting on over 2.5 sets is a value bet for sure.

Selekhmeteva – Kraus: Time 9:30 EST

H2H: 1-2

Oksana Selekhmeteva and Sinja Kraus are separated by just two spots in the WTA world rankings, with Selekhmeteva ranked 91 and Kraus 93. Kraus, however, has three grass match victories this season. Selekhmeteva has only one. It’s not as though there is a wide, gaping difference between the two players. Kraus, though, has slightly better credentials on grass. Kraus did win 17 clay matches in 2026 compared to just five for Selekhmeteva, but comparing clay results going into WTA Wimbledon competition is always risky. More clay wins point to an ability to win matches, but the surface involved can pose limitations. Transitioning to a different surface can change the way players play and react, so clay quality shouldn’t be assumed as the basis for a grass prediction.

Best Bet to Make

The over 2.5 set bet is very much in play here, since both players are comparable and there isn’t a large difference between them. They are not in clearly different tiers of quality. They are more or less in the same range. Based on that logic, one can easily assume the match will go three sets. If you want to bet over 2.5 sets, it’s a solid choice to make. However, we do like the fact that Kraus has more grass wins than Selekhmeteva and has played three more grass matches (six to three) going into this WTA Wimbledon first-round match. We like Kraus moneyline, which has a very good price.

That being said, betting on Kraus winning is a value bet for sure.

Navarro – Badosa: Time 9:30 EST

H2H: 1-2

Emma Navarro was struggling for much of the 2026 season, but one month ago, she began to play better. That was on clay, just before Roland-Garros. Navarro has carried that turnaround into the grass season. She has six grass match wins in 2026, compared to just two for Paula  Badosa. However, Badosa beat Coco Gauff in Berlin recently, just before reaching the WTA Wimbledon first round. That result will make it legitimate to pick Badosa in a moneyline upset. Badosa is a former top-five player, Navarro a former top-10 player. These players used to be really strong. Both need a win here to build back some momentum going into the second half of 2026.

Best Bet to Make

The Badosa win over Gauff should not be ignored, but it should also be noted that Coco Gauff is having a bad season and historically does not do well on grass. The value of that win for Badosa is real, but it’s not enough to make us think she will beat Navarro. The American has put together a solid grass season. She has collected wins, gained some match play, and built some rhythm. That should be enough to get her past Badosa. The moneyline price isn’t spectacular, but it is perfectly acceptable.

That being said, betting on Navarro winning is a value bet for sure.
