ATP Queen’s Club Draw Analysis: Alex de Minaur Top Seed, Jodar Faces Buse

The ATP Queen’s Club Championships will be held on grass courts at the Queen’s Club in West Kensington from June 15–21.

Since its formation 140 years ago, this tournament has helped players prepare for the biggest grass-court tournament, Wimbledon.

ATP Queen’s Club Draw Analysis

The defending champion, Carlos Alcaraz, will miss this year’s edition due to a wrist injury, so the Australian No.1, Alex de Minaur will be the top seed.

The opposite side of the draw will feature second seed Jiri Lehecka.

The 2026 Rotterdam 500 champion, De Minaur will start his campaign against promising youngster Gabriel Diallo in the Round of 32. British wild card Jack Pnnington Jones will face 2025 Dallas Open champion Dennis Shapovalov for a place in the Round of 16 to play either de Minaur or Diallo.

Roland Garros quarterfinalist Rafael Jodar faces a huge test against 2026 Hamburg Open champion, Ignacio Buse, in the first round. Marton Fucsovics comes up against American Brandon Nakashima for a place in the Round of 16 against either Jódar or Buse. If the seeds hold, we may see de Minaur and Jódar in the quarterfinal.

‎Third seed and French Open semifinalist Jakub Mensik opens his campaign in London against the crafty 37-year-old, Adrian Mannarino.

The battle of the two British wild cards sees Arthur Ferry and Toby Samuel battle for a place in the Round of 16 against either Mensik or Mannarino.

‎Seventh seed Francisco Cerundolo will lock horns with 21-year-old Belgian Alexander Blockx, and the winner goes to the Round of 16 to face the winner between Jenson Brooksby and a qualifier. Jódar and Mensik may set up a blockbuster semifinal match.

The top half of the draw promises to see some great matches if the seeds hold.

Other Half of the Draw

The bottom half of the draw also promises to be fierce and entertaining, just like the top half. Second seed Jiri Lehecka will face 30-year-old Kamil Majchrzak in the first round, which will set up a potential second round match against Alejandro Tabilo or a qualifier.

Sixth seed Arthur Rinderknech will battle Serbian Hamad Međedović for a place in the Round of 16 to play the winner between 2021 Halle Open champion Ugo Humbert or 2014 US Open Champion Marin Cilic. We may see Humbert or Cilic play Lehecka in the quarterfinal if the seeds hold.

Eighth seed and 2024 Queen’s Club champion Tommy Paul faces a tricky battle against Jaume Munar in the Round of 32. The other encounter sees Botic van de Zandschulp playing a qualifier to determine who plays Paul or Munar in the Round of 16. The creative Frenchman Corentine Moutet goes up against a qualifier to determine who plays Alejandro Davidovic Fokina or British No. 1 Cameron Norrie in the second round.

Paul and Davidovic Fokina are likely to meet in the quarterfinals, and also Lehecka and Rinderknech may set up a blockbuster meeting in the semifinal if the seeds hold. These matches may set up a huge potential semifinal between Paul and Lehecka.

The qualifiers will be placed in the main draw after the qualifying rounds on Sunday.
