After Mirra Andreeva won her first Slam in Paris the WTA tour shifts to grass, with Queen’s, always one of the most traditional events on tour, kickstarting this grass court swing. As is often the case, this tournament has a very strong draw, led by Elena Rybakina but with several other top level players competing.
WTA Queen’s Day 2 Predictions
Laura Siegemund vs Francesca Jones
Head-to-head: Siegemund 1-1 Jones
Neither player is having a very successful season thus far and will be looking to get some momentum going here this week. That said, all things considered Siegemund is definitely the better player of the two in general and should be able to pull through here, even if it should be a very close match, perhaps even decided by tiebreakers.

Marie Bouzkova vs Polina Kudermetova
Head-to-head: first meeting
Bouzkova played well at the French Open and was unlucky to run into the eventual champion Mirra Andreeva early in the draw, but she will bring some confidence into this grass court season. Kudermetova fought hard to make it through qualifying, winning back to back deciding sets, but Bouzkova will be a significant step up in level here.

Maria Sakkari vs Tatjana Maria
Head-to-head: Sakkari 3-1 Maria
Maria’s only win in this matchup unsurprisingly came in the only time they faced on grass, back at Wimbledon 2022. Maria is a true grass court specialist, with her level on this surface being far higher than on any other surface. She will once again be looking to have a very strong run on grass and might well get another win over Sakkari here.

Iva Jovic vs Antonia Ruzic
Head-to-head: first meeting
Jovic is fresh off a heartbreaking loss to Naomi Osaka at the French Open but she continues to steadily rise up the rankings and will certainly be a dangerous player during this grass court season. Ruzic played very well in qualifying to get to this main draw, but Jovic will be a significant step in level and Ruzic is unlikely to cause her any big issues here.
