Alexander Zverev vs Flavio Cobolli: French Open 2026 Final How to Watch and Match Time

After what has been one of the most turbulent French Open fortnights of this century, we finally have two players remaining who will compete for the Coupe des Mousquetaires as Alexander Zverev takes on Italian Flavio Cobolli.

Both players have navigated their path to the final amid all the chaos surrounding this tournament and are now each three sets away from the biggest win of their careers. As always, we here at LWOT will be telling you all the details on how you can catch the action live.

Alexander Zverev vs Flavio Cobolli: French Open Final

Match Preview

This will be the fifth meeting between the players, with the German currently leading the head-to-head three matches to one. All four of their previous meetings have been played within the last year or so, including Zverev defeating Cobolli in the third round of the French Open last year.

While that match ended in straight sets, Cobolli is now a much better player, something Zverev himself realized when the Italian brushed him aside on the Munich clay earlier this year. The German did get his revenge a week later in Madrid, but the match in Munich showed that when in form and playing confidently from the baseline, Cobolli is a very capable player, especially on clay. The Italian has now also broken into the Top 10 rankings for the first time following his run to the final in Paris.

Zverev will need to be patient in this matchup, as he has a decisive edge in both the serving and backhand departments. However, the German has shown over the years that he tends to get tight when the pressure rises, and the pressure on Zverev in this match will be like no other. For the first time, he is facing a player he is clearly better than in a Major final, and it is quite likely that he never gets a better chance to win the title he has been chasing for over a decade: a Major championship.

Expect nerves, both players having dominant stretches of play, exciting baseline points, and more. Our experts have made their picks for this encounter, but who do you think will come out on top in Paris this year?

About Zain Mustafa

Being brought up in a sports-watching home, some of the spheres flying across the TV screen stuck with me more than others, the yellow fuzzy one probably the most. A lefty Mallorcan got me into it, a righty Murcian has kept me in it after him, but to be honest, once I was in, I never felt like leaving anyway.
