An exciting day of tennis awaits on Day 4 of the ATP Rome Masters as some of the most in-form players take the court for the first time this week. Frances Tiafoe vs Ignacio Buse
Head-to-Head: first meeting
Frances Tiafoe missed the other two Masters on clay this season and will play his first match in over a month. His record here in Rome is horrible, with just one match win in six appearances. Igancio Buse played a fantastic match in the first round to defeat Lorenzo Sonego and will like his chances to reach the third round. He is the in-form player, and I expect him to be the more solid player in this match.
Prediction: Buse in 3
Joao Fonseca vs Hamad Medjedovic
Head-to-Head: first meeting
Joao Fonseca will be looking to win his first match at the Rome Masters as he lost in the first round on his debut last year. He has gained a lot of experience since then and has been highly consistent in the last couple of months. Hamad Medjedovic lost his serve just once in his first-round match and looked in complete control. He has the firepower to match Fonseca, and whoever stays more disciplined will have the upper hand. I am going with the Serbian in this one.

Ben Shelton vs Nikoloz Basilashvili
Head-to-Head: first meeting
#5 seed Ben Shelton won his biggest title on clay in Munich last month, and with a good amount of rest, he should be fresh to make a deep run here and get to the French Open in the best form possible. Nikoloz Basilashvili has already played three matches here, including qualifiers and should make it competitive for at least a set. However, Shelton has more quality, and it should help him prevail in the end.
Prediction: Shelton in 3
Arthur Fils vs Andrea Pellegrino
Head-to-Head: first meeting
Arthur Fils has shown incredible consistency since coming back from injury this season and is only losing to the best players in the world. He is playing the best tennis of his career and will be extremely tough to beat once again if he is not fatigued. Andrea Pellegrino got a big win in the first round against fellow Italian Luca Nardi. It was Pellegrino’s first main draw win in Rome, but the Frenchman is on another level and should get the win comfortably.
Prediction: Fils in 2
