Karolina Muchova at the French Open

WTA Stuttgart Day 2 Predictions Including Karolina Muchova vs Aliaksandra Sasnovich

There are six matches scheduled on Day 2 of the WTA Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, and despite being first-round matches, the lineup is packed with exciting battles. This article features #7 seed Karolina Muchova, who will face Aliaksandra Sasnovich. As always, we at LWOT will offer predictions for all the matches, but who will advance?

WTA Stuttgart Day 2 Predictions

Elise Mertens vs Ella Seidel

Head-to-Head: first meeting

2025 quarterfinalist Elise Mertens, has had a consistent season so far, but she hasn’t made a single quarterfinal yet. She would be looking to do that here and gain some momentum for the bigger tournaments. Wild card Ella Seidel has won just two main draw matches this season and has not been able to replicate the form she showed last year. She has limited match experience on clay, and a player of Mertens’ quality will take advantage.
Prediction: Mertens in 2

Paula Badosa vs Eva Lys

Head-to-Head: Badosa 1-0 Lys

Former semifinalist Paula Badosa has performed well over the years in Stuttgart, and she needs a big week here to get her confidence back after another injury-plagued season so far. She has already played a couple of clay tournaments before coming here, which should help. Eva Lys is a solid opponent, but she is also searching for her form after a knee injury and might not be able to show her best.
Prediction: Badosa in 3

Karolina Muchova vs Aliaksandra Sasnovich

Head-to-Head: Muchova 1-0 Sasnovich

Karolina Muchova is playing here for the first time since 2021 and will be looking to win her first main draw match. She has been in terrific form this season, and the 2023 French Open finalist is more than good enough on this surface to keep the momentum going. Aliaksandra Sasnovich has done well to make the main draw of tournaments this season, but she has come up against some brilliant players in the first round, and this is no exception. I am going with Muchova.
Prediction: Muchova in 2
