Taylor Townsend will meet Peyton Stearns for the second time in her career, and the first since the qualifiers at WTA Cincinnati. Townsend won that in three sets, taking the second and third sets. This is Taylor’s first final since 2023. This would be the first WTA-level title in Townsend’s career. Her last ITF title was in 2023.
Townsend is 6-2 in 2026. She’s 203-127 on a hardcourt in her career, and is the more experienced player in that regard. Townsend’s best win in this tournament was easily against Ashlyn Krueger. Not only was she the highest-ranked player of the tournament for Townsend, but none of her opponents were inside the top 100 in the World.
Peyton Stearns is ranked twice as high as Townsend in the World rankings. Stearns ranks 62nd, while Townsend ranks No. 119 in the World. Stearns had also gone deeper in this tournament before this year’s meeting. She reached the quarterfinals here back in 2023, but Townsend had only ever made it as high as the round of 16 back in 2024.
Stearns has 131 overall wins in the last five years, and Townsend has 111. Townsend is also in the doubles final, and the amount of tennis she’s played over the last week is certainly a lot. Funnily enough, Townsend and her partner Storm Hunter were also the duo responsible for ending Stearns and Venus Williams’ efforts in this tournament during the round of 16. That went to a second-set tiebreak.
Best Bets to Make
Main Bet
The books have Stearns as the underdog in this match by about .11 points overall, and there are at least four books that have this as a push. If you’re going to bet on Stearns, stick with the straight-up bet at 2.0 on bet365. At double your money back, it’s a much wiser bet than trying to land a correct score or playing some absurd odds on the over/under on sets or games.
That being said, Stearns winning is a value bet.

Second Bet
Given the closeness of the lines, I’m going to recommend a similar strategy if you’re betting on Townsend. Take her straight up at 1.95 on Betway. You get the added benefit of her being the favorite at only .05-points less for a straight-up bet. With lines starting at 3.5 for a correct score of 2:0 Townsend, it’s just not worth complicating things. You can double your bet by doing virtually nothing, and those are the best kind of bets.
That being said, Townsend winning is a value bet.
