Serena and Venus Williams Launch Stockton Street Podcast on X

Serena and Venus Williams have always shared their story with the world through their tennis, but now they are taking that narrative into a new space. The sisters have launched a podcast called Stockton Street, available on X, which will release episodes every other Wednesday. The title is a nod to the street in Compton, California, where they grew up–an acknowledgment of the roots that shaped two of the most iconic athletes in sports history.

The debut episode was filmed at Arthur Ashe Stadium, a fitting setting given the Williams sisters’ long and decorated history there. Serena lifted six of her 23 Grand Slam singles trophies in New York, while Venus triumphed twice at the US Open, making Flushing Meadows a stage closely tied to their careers. That first recording location underlines what the podcast seems poised to offer: a blend of memory, storytelling, and reflection that connects their past with their present.

Both Serena and Venus are at different stages of life and career now. Serena stepped away from the tour in 2022, her influence still towering over the sport. Venus, meanwhile, continues to compete, returning to action in July after a 16-month break and becoming the oldest singles entrant at the US Open since 1981. For her, the podcast offers a platform to share her experiences while still actively building on her legacy on court.

In recent years, podcasts have become an important medium for athletes looking to define their voice beyond the structured settings of press conferences and interviews. For the Williams sisters, Stockton Street represents more than just another project, it’s an opportunity to speak directly to fans, explore stories from their journey, and perhaps weigh in on broader cultural conversations.

What makes this venture compelling is the authenticity the sisters have always brought to everything they do. Their careers were defined not just by titles and records but by the resilience and perspective they carried from their beginnings in Compton. By naming the podcast after the street where it all began, Serena and Venus are signaling that they intend to revisit those foundations while also charting new territory in storytelling.

With their status as trailblazers and cultural icons, the Williams sisters have already redefined what it means to be athletes, entrepreneurs, and role models. Stockton Street could add another dimension to their influence, giving audiences an intimate seat at the table as two of the game’s greatest voices reflect, share, and inspire once again.
