WTA Cincinnati Best Bets Including Iva Jovic vs Varvara Gracheva

The WTA Cincinnati Open is getting underway. Here are my best bets for a few of the opening-round matches. Please share your thoughts on these matches in the comment section. Without further ado, let’s check our best bets for the WTA Cincinnati Open.

WTA Cincinnati Open

Jovic – Gracheva: Time 20:00

H2H: 0-0

Iva Jovic and Varavara Gracheva will meet for the first time in Cincinnati. Jovic enters Cincinnati on a tear. Jovic is 9-1 in her last ten matches, and her only loss came to Suzan Lamens in the first round of Wimbledon, but that was after she already had three wins and was coming off a tournament victory at Ilkley. Gracheva has a few close calls on the year at Eastbourne and Paris, but she hasn’t claimed a tournament title since 2019.

Best Bet to Make

The books have Jovic as a favorite, and I agree. She’s playing some of her best tennis and stands a strong chance of winning the entire thing here in Cincinnati. She’s 11-4 on a hardcourt in 2025, and her overall record on hardcourt is 41-14. She has the added confidence of two previous titles this year, and it’s hard to see Gracheva suddenly performing above her skill level on a hardcourt. She’s basically a .500 player on the surface at 87-83 overall.

That being said, Jovic winning is a value bet for sure.

Rakhimova – Marino: Time 17:00

H2H: 0-1

Kamilla Rakhimova and Rebecca Marino are the featured match in this article. Rakhimova is 7-3 in her last ten and enters the match eleven years younger than Marino. Marino has a wealth of experience as the older competitor, and she’s 274-153 overall on a hardcourt throughout her career. Rakhimova is 109-80 overall and 7-11 on the year. This match comes down to youth vs experience.

Best Bet to Make

Marino is the underdog in this match, but I think she’s going to use her experience to give Rakhimova problems early on. I expect her to overwhelm Rakhimova with her strong serve and aggressive playstyle. I expect the veteran to use her wealth of experience to counter Rakihomova’s baseline strategy, as it’s something she’s seen a million times. At 2.75 on Betway, Marino is worth the risk.

That being said, Marino winning is a value bet for sure.

Jacquemot – Tomova: Time 19:00

H2H: 0-1

Elsa Jacquemot and Viktoriya Tomova will meet for the second time this year in Cincinnati. They previously met in the round of 16 at Bari, which Tomova took in three sets. The quarterfinals she reached at Bari were one of the few bright spots on Tomova’s season. Jacquemot is 38-24 on the year, and she has a tournament victory earlier this year. While both women are fairly average on a hardcourt, Tomova has the better experience at 159-111 overall, even if she’s 4-8 this year.

Best Bet to Make

The books have this one being a push, and I can see why. Neither lady are lighting up the scoreboard and taking home trophies. Most tournaments, they struggle to even get out of the gate. Tomova seems completely overwhelmed when she plays on a hardcourt. Jacquemot at least has a record above .500 on the surface for the year, but this really is a coin flip of a match. I still think Jacquemot is gonna be the winner here. She just seems a bit more capable on the year, and I think her conditioning is going to play a heavy factor in this match.

That being said, Jacquemot winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.
