The 2025 edition of the ATP Umag Open sees a relatively young draw, which means a lot of exciting tennis and unexpected results. As ever, we preview and predict the four scheduled matches for you on Day 3.
ATP Umag Day 3 Predictions
Round of 32
Jesper de Jong vs Mili Poljicak
Head-to-head – First Meeting
Jesper de Jong enters this match on the back of a fantastic week in Bastad last week. He reached the finals and put up a valiant effort, losing in three sets. He faces wild card Mili Poljicak, who doesn’t possess a whole lot of momentum entering this match. Expect de Jong to start strong here.
Prediction: de Jong in 2
Elmer Moller vs Dino Prizmic
Head-to-head – First Meeting
Elmer Moller won a challengers event in July and the Dane should have decent hopes of a good result this week. He takes on home favourite Dino Prizmic who received a wildcard to play this week. Prizmic himself enters this week after reaching the final at a Challenger event just last week. Expect a very tight battle with the home support just edging Prizmic for the win.
Prediction: Prizmic in 3
Round of 16
Terence Atmane vs Pablo Llamas Ruiz
Head-to-head – First Meeting
Neither player has a lot of experience on the main tour, but this week may prove their best opportunity for both to notch up some points. Terence Atmane will no doubt to look to use his serve to yield cheap points. Pablo Llamas Ruiz, on the other hand, has played great tennis to qualify and back that up with a first round win. Expect Atmane to start fast but as the match goes on, Ruiz should be able to defend better and wear Atmane down.
Prediction: Ruiz in 3
Camilo Ugo Carabelli vs Francesco Passaro
Head-to-head – First Meeting
Camilo Ugo Carabelli had a decent result last week in Bastad, reaching the semifinals. Overall, the Argentine has had a good 2025 season with a win loss of 14-15 and is close to the Top 50 ranking. He will surely be looking to break in to the Top 50 by the end of this week. His first assignment this week is Francesco Passaro, who played solidly last week in Gstaad and did start with a win here as well in his first round. Expect Passaro to give his all but it’s unlikely he’ll be able to get the better of Carabelli on clay.
Prediction: Ugo Carabelli in 2
