ATP French Open 1/16-Finals
Shelton – Gigante: 30.05.2025 14:30 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Ben Shelton has won three of his last five matches. His last match before the ATP French Open was in Rome, where he lost in the opening round against Munar in straight sets. This week in Paris, Shelton won the opening round match against Sonego in five tight sets. He trailed 1-2 but turned the match around. Hugo Gaston withdrew from the second-round match against Shelton, so he had enough time to rest for the third-round match.
Matteo Gigante has won five straight matches. This week in Paris, Gigante qualified for the main draw tournament. In the opening main draw round, the Italian dominated against Hassan, winning in straight sets easily. He lost his serve only once, other than that, Gigante dominated on his serve. Yesterday, in the second round, he secured his biggest career win, defeating Tsitsipas in four tight sets. He was great under pressure, saving eleven out of thirteen breakpoints.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Shelton is the favourite in this matchup, but we disagree. Shelton never succeeded at the French Open or on European clay courts. On the other hand, Gigante dominated throughout the week, winning five straight matches in Paris already. We expect him to play without pressure, as he did against Tsitsipas in the second round, and win this match.
That being said, Gigante winning is a value bet.

Dzumhur – Alcaraz: 30.05.2025 20:15 CEST
H2H: 0-1
Damir Dzumhur has won three of his last five matches. This week in Paris, Dzumhur won both matches in four sets. He has had a favourable draw so far. In the opening round, the Bosnian defeated Tirante after spending over three hours on the court. After losing the opening set 3-6, Dzumhur turned the match around. Yesterday, in the second round, he won against Mpetshi Perricard in four tight sets. Dzumhur fought with an injury in the fourth set but overcame the pain.
Carlos Alcaraz has won eight straight matches. Last week in Rome, Alcaraz won the Masters 1000 title, defeating Sinner in the final in straight sets. This week in Paris, Alcaraz won against Zeppieri in the opening round in straight sets within two hours. Alcaraz is the defending champion in Paris. In the second round, Alcaraz defeated Marozsan in four sets. After losing the second set 4-6, the Spaniard stepped up and dominated in the third and fourth sets. Last season, he won the title against Zverev in the final. He is the biggest favourite to win the title this season.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Alcaraz is the big favourite in this matchup, and we agree. Dzumhur has no weapons for his game, and the Bosnian will also not be 100% fit, so we expect Alcaraz to dominate from the start until the end.
That being said, Alcaraz covering the games handicap is a value bet.
