After winning the opening set 7-6, Cobolli stepped up his level and won easily. Last season in Hamburg, he reached the second round, eventually losing to Zhang in straight sets.

According to the bookies, this will be a 50-50 matchup, but we disagree. Etcheverry dominated in all three matches this week in Hamburg. He leads 4-0 against Cobolli in the head-to-head meetings. He has already defeated the Italian two times on clay. We expect him to be a better player tomorrow and proceed into the final.
Auger-Aliassime – Rublev: 23.05.2025 17:30 CEST

Felix Auger-Aliassime has won three of his last five matches. His last match before ATP Hamburg was in Estoril, around three weeks ago, where Pellegrino upset him in the opening round of the Challenger tournament. This is his second appearance in Hamburg. In the opening main draw round, the Canadian defeated Altmaier in straight sets. Mpetshi Perricard also had no answer for his game in the 1/8-Finals. Auger-Aliassime dominated from the start until the end and won in straight sets. His biggest challenge came in the quarterfinals tonight. After spending three hours on the court, he won against Muller in three tight sets. He had a chance to close out the match in the second set but fumbled under pressure.
Andrey Rublev has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Rome, Rublev lost against Marozsan in the opening round in three tight sets. He won the title here in 2020. This week in Hamburg, Rublev won the opening round match against Dzumhur in straight sets. In the second round against Engel, Rublev trailed in both sets but still won in straight sets. Today, his toughest challenge was in the quarterfinals against Darderi. Rublev won in three sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Rublev is the slight favourite in this matchup, and we agree. He is a better clay-court player overall than Auger-Aliassime. Rublev has already won the title here in 2020 and enjoys playing in Hamburg. On the other hand, the Canadian usually struggles on clay courts, especially this season. Rublev won both head-to-head matches on clay, and we expect him to do so tomorrow as well.
That being said, Rublev winning is a value bet.
