Andrey Rublev will be in action at the French Open.

ATP Hamburg Quarterfinal Predictions Including Andrey Rublev vs Luciano Darderi

Thursday is quarterfinal day at the ATP 500 event in Hamburg, one day earlier than usual, as the 2025 French Open is set to kick off on Sunday. Only two seeds remain in the tournament — Andrey Rublev and Felix Auger-Aliassime — and they’ll look to fend off younger and lower-ranked stars looking to claim a confidence-building title. LWOT predicts all the quarterfinal matches below. Who do you think will advance?

ATP Hamburg Quarterfinal Predictions

Tomas Martin Etcheverry vs Jiri Lehecka

Head-to-head: 1-1

Etcheverry is working his way back into form on the surface that he plays the best on, not dropping a set yet en route to the finals. However, Lehecka is playing confident tennis after injury concerns have plagued him, and he notably looked impressive in a 7-5, 6-2 win over Francisco Cerundolo in the second round. The Czech’s power should be enough for him to win in a close battle.

Prediction: Lehecka in 3

Roberto Bautista Agut vs Flavio Cobolli

Head-to-head: First meeting

As Bautista Agut’s speed and strength have diminished over time, the Spaniard showed glimpses of his peak form after he commanded a 6-2 6-3 win over Frances Tiafoe in the second round. The 37-year-old has experience at this tournament over time; expect him to outgrind the more aggressive but inconsistent Cobolli. The Italian will have to serve big to stay in the match.

Alexandre Müller vs Felix Auger-Aliassime

Head-to-head: Muller 1-0

Muller leads the head-to-head in this matchup, as he cruised to a straight-sets win over Auger-Aliassime in Shanghai last fall. This matchup will be interesting, as Muller thrives on clay courts and stunned top seed Alexander Zverev on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Auger-Aliassime has only dropped 12 games in his first two matches, and he’s won over 80% of points off his powerful first serve. It may be tough for the Frenchman to pick up another big win, and the Canadian might have the edge here with his experience in later rounds of tournaments.

Prediction: Auger-Aliassime in 3

Andrey Rublev vs Luciano Darderi

Head-to-head: First meeting

Darderi is having another big clay-court season in 2025, after he won his second ATP Tour title in Marrakech on the dirt. He’s looked strong this week, notably taking out seventh-seed Brandon Nakashima in three sets, but facing Rublev may be a step up for the Italian. Rublev’s forehand has looked flashy, and he has experience at this event as the 2020 champion. Look for the Russian to reach the semifinals.

Prediction: Rublev in 2
