ATP Masters 1000 Miami 1/64-Finals
Safiullin – Brooksby: Time TBA
H2H: first meeting
Roman Safiullin has lost three of his last five matches. Last week in Phoenix, Safiullin lost in the second round against Smith in straight sets. It is his third appearance in Miami. Last season, Musetti defeated Safiullin in the second round in straight sets.
Jenson Brooksby has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Indian Wells, Brooksby put up a big fight against Draper, losing in tight straight sets. His previous appearance in Miami was in 2022, where he lost against Medvedev in the fourth round.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, this will be a 50-50 matchup, but we disagree. Brooksby is slowly but surely returning to his best form. He will have a packed crowd on his side. On the other hand, Safiullin struggled throughout the whole season. We expect Brooksby to be a better player in this matchup.
That being said, Brooksby winning is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: Jenson Brooksby winning @1.91 @bet365
Seyboth Wild – Halys: Time TBA
H2H: first meeting
Thiago Seyboth Wild has lost four of his last five matches. Last week in Cap Cana, he was stopped in the opening round against Mejia, losing in three tight sets. The Brazilian had his biggest results on clay. Last season in Miami, he was stopped in the third round, losing against Jarry in three tight sets.
Quentin Halys has won three of his last five matches. His last match was in Indian Wells, where Alcaraz stopped him in the second round. Before that, the Frenchman had a great run in Dubai, reaching the semifinals as a qualifier. Last season in Miami, he failed to qualify for the main draw tournament.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Halys is the slight favorite in this matchup, and we agree. Seyboth Wild has not had remarkable results this season. He is a solid clay court player but has never had any success on fast courts. We expect Halys to win.
That being said, Halys winning is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: Quentin Halys winning @1.57 @bet365
Sonego – Navone: Time TBA
H2H: 1-0
Lorenzo Sonego has lost three straight matches. His last win was over a month ago in Marseille. This will be his sixth appearance in Miami. He has never made it past the fourth round. Last season, Sonego lost in the opening round against Evans in three tight sets.
Mariano Navone has lost three of his last five matches. His last match was in Indian Wells, where Shelton stopped him in the second round. Navone is a clay court specialist who has never succeeded on hard courts. This is his debut campaign in Miami.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Sonego is the slight favorite in this matchup, and we agree. Although he is in bad form, he is still a better hard-court player than Navone. We expect him to dominate in this match and win easily.
That being said, Sonego covering the games handicap is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: Lorenzo Sonego -2.5 games handicap @1.73 @bet365
