Carlos Alcaraz is aiming for his third consecutive title in Indian Wells and remains the clear favorite. His position as the favorite strengthened after Jannik Sinner’s absence due to a doping ban, and even more so following the shocking early exits of Alexander Zverev and Novak Djokovic. Yet, what truly grabbed headlines during his tournament debut was not his performance on the court, but a new addition to his right arm–a tattoo revealing the release date of his upcoming Netflix docuseries.
The Intriguing Tattoo Revelation
In his opening match against Frenchman Quentin Halys, Alcaraz displayed outstanding form, securing his 13th consecutive victory in Tennis Paradise with a dominant 6-4, 6-2 win in just 69 minutes. Yet what captured fans’ attention wasn’t just his commanding performance, but the mysterious tattoo on his right arm. Alcaraz, known for getting tattoos to commemorate his Grand Slam triumphs–such as a strawberry for Wimbledon and the Eiffel Tower for Roland Garros–unveiled a new one featuring a specific date: April 23, 2025. This turned out to be the release date of his upcoming Netflix docuseries, titled My Way.
From Indian Wells… to Indian Wells
Indian Wells seems to have become the perfect stage for Carlos Alcaraz’s major Netflix announcements. Exactly one year ago, during the same tournament, the Spanish star cryptically signed a camera with the letter ‘N’ after a victory, hinting at his collaboration with the streaming platform. A few days before, he was also a key figure in the Netflix Slam, a special event played in Las Vegas and streamed on the platform, alongside fellow Spaniard Rafa Nadal.
Now, exactly one year later at Indian Wells, Alcaraz has made another Netflix-related revelation—this time, in an even more direct way. His new tattoo displayed the date April 23, 2025, marking the release of the docuseries My Way. The project will offer an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at his 2024 season, which saw him triumph at Roland Garros and Wimbledon.
Excitement on Social Media and a Temporary Mark
Following his match, Alcaraz took to Instagram to share his excitement, writing “Good premiere”—a clear reference to both his victorious debut in the tournament and the upcoming series. However, according to Spanish media, the tattoo was not permanent. It lasted only 36 hours and is expected to disappear before his next match against Denis Shapovalov.
My Way, the eagerly awaited Netflix docuseries, promises an intimate and behind-the-scenes look at Carlos Alcaraz’s journey throughout the 2024 season. It will be available on Netflix starting April 23, 2025.
