Diallo demolished Bellucci 6-1 6-0 in the final qualifying round. It is his first appearance in Acapulco.
Tommy Paul has won three of his last five matches. His last match was in Dallas, where he reached the semifinals. He was eventually stopped by Shapovalov, losing in straight sets. Paul struggled under pressure, losing the most important points of the match. Earlier this season, Tommy had a decent run in Melbourne, reaching the quarterfinals of the Australian Open. He lost in a tight quarterfinal clash against Zverev in four sets. It is his seventh appearance in Acapulco. Last season, Tommy lost in the opening round against Draper in straight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Paul is the favorite in this matchup, but we disagree. Diallo has been phenomenal this week in the qualifying tournament. He will be fully confident coming into this match. We expect him to keep this match tight and maybe even win against Paul tonight.
