ATP Buenos Aires Best Bets Including Etcheverry vs Fonseca

ATP 250 Buenos Aires 1/16-Finals

Moutet – Munar: 11.02.2025 22:00 CEST
H2H: 2-0

Corentin Moutet has won three of his last five matches. So far this season, Moutet has only played at the Australian Open. Tien stopped him in the third round, losing in straight sets. Last season was disappointing for him, with no remarkable results. It is his third appearance in Buenos Aires. He has never made it past the first round. His last clay court match happened in July at the Olympic Games, and he lost against Paul in straight sets.

Jaume Munar has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Dallas, Munar surprisingly reached the semifinals, losing against Ruud in three tight sets, as we predicted. At the beginning of the season, Jaume reached the semifinals in Hong Kong, losing against Muller in three tight sets. The last match he played on clay was last year in Austria when he won the Challenger title. Last year in Buenos Aires, Munar failed to qualify for the main draw tournament.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Munar is the slight favorite in this matchup, and we agree. He is in better form and also a better clay-court player than Moutet. Corentin has played only three matches this season. We expect Munar to dominate and win easily.

That being said, Munar winning is a value bet.

Etcheverry – Fonseca: 11.02.2025 22:30 CEST
H2H: first meeting

Tomas Martin Etcheverry has lost three of his last five matches. As we had predicted, his last match was in the Davis Cup, where he helped Argentina win against Norway. Etcheverry had his biggest results on clay courts last season. His last clay court match was last year at the Olympic Games, losing against Safiullin in the second round. It is his fifth appearance in Buenos Aires. Last year in Buenos Aires, Tomas retired in the quarterfinal match against Jarry.

Joao Fonseca has won three of his last five matches. Fonseca won the Challenger title in Canberra in his season-opening tournament without losing a set. Fonseca qualified for the main draw tournament in Melbourne without losing a single set. In five tight sets, he was stopped in the second main draw round against Sonego. His last clay court match was in April last year when he lost against Norrie in Madrid. It is his first appearance in Buenos Aires. Around this time last year, Joao played at the Challenger Tour level.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, this will be a 50-50 match, but we disagree. Fonseca is one of the biggest upcoming talents but has yet to show his best tennis on clay courts. His most significant results happened on hard courts. On the other hand, Etcheverry is a proven clay-court specialist. We expect him to dominate in long rallies and win against Fonseca tonight.

That being said, Etcheverry winning is a value bet.
