WTA Australian Open quarterfinals
Keys – Svitolina: 22.01.2025 Time TBA
H2H: 3-2
Madison Keys has won nine straight matches. Last week in Adelaide, Madison won the title, winning against Pegula in the final. Her most formidable challenge in the tournament happened in the second round against Ruse. Keys trailed 2-3 in the deciding set but successfully turned the match around. Today, in the 1/8-Finals, Madison defeated Rybakina in three sets. The last time she played in Melbourne was in 2023, losing in the third round against Azarenka in three sets.
Elina Svitolina has won four of her last five matches. Here in Melbourne, Elina won her opening matches easily in straight sets. Her toughest challenge was in the third round against Paolini. Elina lost the first set 2-6. However, Svitolina stayed calm and quickly turned the match around. Today, in the 1/8-Finals, Svitolina won against Kudermetova in straight sets. Last year in Melbourne, Svitolina reached the 1/8-Finals, retiring against Noskova in the first set. Her biggest result was reaching the quarterfinals, so she can now surpass that record.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, we agree that Keys is the favorite in this matchup. Madison had tougher opponents en route to the quarterfinals than Svitolina. She is also in better form, and we expect her to prolong her winning streak.
That being said, Keys winning is a value bet.

Navarro – Swiatek: 22.01.2025 Time TBA
H2H: 0-1
Emma Navarro has won four of her last five matches. En route to the quarterfinals, Emma won all her matches in three tight sets. She has spent over ten hours on the court already. Her longest and toughest match was in the opening round against Stearns. After losing the first set 6-7, Emma won in three tight sets. Today in the 1/8-Finals, Navarro won again against Kasatkina in three tight sets. Last year in Melbourne, Emma reached the third round, losing against Yastremska in three sets.
Iga Swiatek has won four of her last five matches. So far in the tournament, Iga won all her matches in straight sets. In her previous three matches, Swiatek lost only four games altogether. Today in the 1/8-Finals, Iga defeated Lys 6-0 6-1 in just an hour. Iga never had any success at the Australian Open. Her most significant result happened in 2022, reaching the semifinals and losing against Collins in straight sets. So far this season, Iga has only played in the United Cup, helping Poland reach the final.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Swiatek is the big favorite in this matchup, and we agree. Iga spent less than four hours on the court without dropping a single set. On the other hand, Navarro spent over ten hours on the court and had several exhausting matches. We expect Iga to dominate once again and win easily.
That being said, Swiatek covering the games handicap is a value bet.
