Last week in Auckland, Norrie was upset by Diaz Acosta in the opening round in straight sets. The Brit had a disappointing 2024 season and hopes to play better this year. Last year in Australia, Norrie almost defeated Zverev in the 1/8-Finals. He lost in five tight sets. Reaching the fourth round is also his best result in the Australian Open.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Berrettini is the favorite in this matchup, but we disagree. Matteo has not played many matches recently, so we are unsure if he is ready and fit for his upcoming match. On the other hand, Norrie looked fine in the season’s opening matches. We expect a tight match that could go either way. Norrie will dominate with his backhand, playing on Matteo’s weak backhand.
That being said, Norrie covering the games handicap is a value bet.
