Amanda Anisimova Western & Southern Open

WTA Hobart Day 3 Predictions Including Amanda Anisimova vs Anna Bondar

All eight second-round matches will be played on Wednesday at the 2025 WTA Hobart International. No. 3 seed Amanda Anisimova delivered a strong showing against Camila Osorio and looks like one of the tournament favorites. Next up for her is a clash against Anna Bondar. We also predict the rest of the day’s matches in a separate article–featuring Elise Mertens vs Renata Zarazua. Who do you think will prevail?

WTA Hobart Day 3 Predictions

Sofia Kenin vs Anna Blinkova

Head-to-head: 1-1

Both players have started the season on a pretty high note. They can be similarly mercurial and tend to fall into losing streaks, but showed some extremely high peaks even last year. Sofia Kenin will be hoping to start putting runs together instead of just a few great individual performances, while Anna Blinkova was just going from great form to poor patch the entire campaign. Who’s been more convincing so far? Perhaps the slightly heavier ball of the Russian, who only lost to an excellent counter-puncher in Mirra Andreeva in Brisbane.
Prediction: Blinkova in 3

Greet Minnen vs Elina Avanesyan

Head-to-head: First meeting

This should be a nice clash of styles. Greet Minnen will be trying to play her aggressive forehand-oriented game, while Elina Avanesyan intends to introduce as much variety as possible and keep her at bay. Hard courts generally suit the Belgian a little bit more, but it’s tough to ignore the wins that Avanesyan has already gotten this season. Minnen has already won six sets in Hobart though and she has a good chance to utilize the conditions to her advantage.
Prediction: Minnen in 3

Camila Osorio vs Veronika Kudermetova

Head-to-head: Osorio 1-0

Veronika Kudermetova fell off in the rankings last year and now she’s even ranked lower than her sister Polina, who unexpectedly reached the Brisbane final last week. Even in her opening win over Elisabetta Cocciaretto, the lack of confidence showed up big-time as she almost lost the opening set from 5-1. That’s why this encounter against Camila Osorio will likely get messy as well (so did their recent meeting in Guadalajara). Let’s say the more aggressive ball-strikes takes it, but it’s going to be a tough ordeal.
Prediction: Kudermetova in 3

Amanda Anisimova vs Anna Bondar

Head-to-head: First meeting

Amanda Anisimova suffered an opening-round defeat to Alycia Parks in Auckland, but she was quick to taste that winning feeling again when she took out Daria Saville here. A matchup like this should probably tune her game into some pretty good rhythm. While Anisimova’s career is all about whether she’s healthy the last few years, her talent has never been questioned. It’s a bit harsh to put it like that, but Anna Bondar really has to hope that Anisimova has a very bad day at the office here.
Prediction: Anisimova in 2
