WTA Hobart Day 2 Predictions Including Amanda Anisimova vs Daria Saville

Tuesday’s schedule at the WTA Hobart International features nine remaining first-round singles matches. Amanda Anisimova suffered an opening-round exit in Auckland last week and if she is to gain some momentum ahead of the Australian Open, she’ll have to take down last year’s semifinalist Daria Saville. Who do you think will come out on top?

WTA Hobart Day 2 Predictions

Anna Blinkova vs Bernarda Pera

Head-to-head: 3-3

These two used to come up against each other quite regularly, but now it will be their first meeting since 2022. The last clashes they had were huge battles and this one may deliver as well. Both players started the season on a decent note with Bernarda Pera reaching the Auckland quarterfinals, while Anna Blinkova got a win in Brisbane before running into Mirra Andreeva. This is just a hunch but the Russian clearly doesn’t struggle against Pera’s lefty spin and she might just have that tiny bit more firepower.
Prediction: Blinkova in 3

Olga Danilovic vs Maya Joint

Head-to-head: First meeting

Maya Joint is probably the best young Australian prospect right now, so it’s no wonder that she received a main draw wildcard for the Slam in Melbourne and doesn’t have to go through the qualifying this week. But this is not an easy match, especially as Olga Danilovic finished her 2024 campaign with 10 wins in a row, including a main tour title in Guangzhou. That momentum might be gone by now, but some confidence should remain. She might be a little too much for Joint at this point in time.
Prediction: Danilovic in 3

Anhelina Kalinina vs Lucia Bronzetti

Head-to-head: Kalinina 2-1

Anhelina Kalinina can sometimes turn off for months, but it seems like she’s found her game very quickly in 2025. The Ukrainian posted four wins in Brisbane last week, defeating Yafan Wang, Diana Shnaider, Yue Yuan, and Kimberly Birrell. She won’t be easy to handle here and while the lucky loser Lucia Bronzetti isn’t the most pleasant opponent for her stylistically, Kalinina should be able to turn that first-week momentum into another run here.
Prediction: Kalinina in 2

Amanda Anisimova vs Daria Saville

Head-to-head: First meeting

We’re still waiting for Amanda Anismova to have that full healthy season at some point in her career and there were flashes last year that suggested it might be coming. Getting Alycia Parks in her first match of 2025 was a tough ask as it’s just not a matchup where you can find rhythm easily. That’s something Daria Saville will grant her, but the Australian is also very skilled in adding variety and drawing out errors. Hard to go against the power of Anisimova, who will need to keep her game in check here.
Prediction: Anisimova in 3
