ATP Finals Semifinals Predictions

Taylor Fritz vs Alexander Zverev

Head to head – Fritz 5-6 Zverev

Taylor Fritz came through in the end in a match that was a potential do or die match for the American. He was sublime in his shotmaking and was so assured in the third set which he never looked like losing. He will be hoping to make his first final here at the ATP Finals but it is not going to be easy at all against arguably the most in form player at the moment.

Alexander Zverev has had a fantastic year albeit not winning the elusive Grand Slam title. The German wshuld still be happy with his season but he will be wary of Fritz, who has beaten him three out of the four times they have played this year. Fritz has the game to go toe to toe with Zverev from the baseline but with the way the German has been attacking the serves and the clarity of his shot selection, expect Fritz to not be settled throughout the match. The big points have gone Zverev’s way this week and expect more of the same.
Prediction: Zverev in 2

Casper Ruud vs Jannik Sinner

Head to head – Ruud 0-2 Sinner

Jannik Sinner has looked like the world’s best player this year and he deservedly takes the year-end #1 ranking. The Italian is yet to drop a set this tournament and is yet to even play a single tiebreaker this week. He has looked invincible and he now faces a player he hasn’t played in over three years.

Casper Ruud surprisingly does play well on these courts having already reached the finals here in 2022 and will look to emulate the same result. It won’t be easy at all for the Norwegian who while did look great in the group stage, he should be overpowered and outmaneuvered from the baseline. His serve has been working well and that may help him get close in sets but Sinner looks mighty strong here to not even lose a set.
Prediction: Sinner in 2
