WTA Jiangxi Quarterfinal Predictions Including Marie Bouzkova vs Kamilla Rakhimova

Marie Bouzkova in action ahead of the WTA Jiangxi Open.

Eight players remain in contention for the Jiangxi Open title. Top-seeded Marie Bouzkova faces Kamilla Rakhimova, while last month’s sensation Rebecca Sramkova takes on Martina Trevisan. Who do you think will make the semifinals?

WTA Jiangxi Quarterfinal Predictions

Viktorija Golubic vs Arantxa Rus

Head-to-head: 1-1

This is already pretty huge for Viktorija Golubic, who spent three months injured this year and was looking for her first WTA Tour quarterfinal since the 2023 grass season. The Swiss one-hander has some game left, it’s just a matter of being able to access it. Usually she’s a stronger hard-court player than Arantxa Rus, but recently the Dutchwoman is finding some results on this surface as well. Still, her topspin game doesn’t really suit courts like this and things should be more on Golubic’s racket here.
Prediction: Golubic in 3

Mananchaya Sawangkaew vs Laura Siegemund

Head-to-head: First meeting

Mananchaya Sawangkaew has been the hardest-working player of the last two weeks, going 8-1 in the span of merely 11 days. She followed up Guangzhou quarterfinal run (from qualifying) with another one here (also from qualifying) and is rising up the ranks quickly. Even if she got the day off on Thursday, it won’t be easy to keep going and beat someone as experienced as Laura Siegemund. The German veteran is still going strong and should like this shot at a second semifinal of the season.
Prediction: Siegemund in 2

Martina Trevisan vs Rebecca Sramkova

Head-to-head: Sramkova 1-0

No wonder that Rebecca Sramkova needed a bit of a break after her Monastir/Hua Hin/Beijing heroics a month ago, but the points earned during that stretch will now earn her so many chances on the main tour going forward. One of them comes here against Martina Trevisan with the Italian’s form being patchy at best this year. Her win rate on hard courts this year is pretty poor too and unless Sramkova can’t control her error count, she should be able to take this one home.
Prediction: Sramkova in 3

Marie Bouzkova vs Kamilla Rakhimova

Head-to-head: Bouzkova 1-0

Marie Bouzkova could use a big result near the end of the season with the Czech operating more through random runs this year. She usually had the consistency to be a more frequent contender in the latter stages of events and there’s nothing to suggest she won’t regain it at some point. This event should be a good opportunity for her and so far she’s standing up to the challenge. Kamilla Rakhimova would need to execute her game at a very high standard to prevail.
Prediction: Bouzkova in 2
