ATP Masters 1000 Paris 1/8-Finals
Tsitsipas – Cerundolo: 31.10.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 1-0
Stefanos Tsitsipas has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Basel, Stefanos reached the quarterfinals, where he lost against Fils in straight sets. The former world number 3 is yet to qualify for the ATP Finals, and is looking for a decent result here in Paris to secure his sixth consecutive appearance. In his opening match, Stefanos defeated Carballes Baena in three sets. After that, in the second round, Tsitsipas defeated Tabilo in straight sets. Last year in Paris, Tsitsipas reached the semifinals, where he lost against Dimitrov in three tight sets.
Francisco Cerundolo has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Basel, Cerundolo lost his opening match against Tsitsipas in three tight sets. Here in Paris, Francisco won his opening match against Halys in straight sets. After that, in the second round, Cerundolo upset Rublev in two tiebreaks. It was a roller-coaster type of match, but Francisco stayed calm, and closed out the match.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Tsitsipas is the slight favorite in this matchup. Stefanos is aiming to qualify for the ATP Finals, so he will definitely be motivated coming into this matchup. On the other hand, Cerundolo never had any success on the fast indoor courts, such as this one. We expect Tsitsipas to dominate and win this match.
That being said, Tsitsipas winning is a value bet.

Zverev – Fils: 31.10.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 2-1
Alexander Zverev has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Vienna, Zverev reached the quarterfinals, when he was upset by Musetti in three tight sets. Here in Paris, Zverev won his opening match against Griekspoor in straight sets. Zverev scored and saved all three breakpoints. Last year in Paris, Zverev reached the 1/8-Finals, where he was stopped by Tsitsipas in straight sets.
Arthur Fils has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Basel, Fils reached the semifinals, where he lost against Shelton in straight sets as we predicted. It was a solid tournament for Fils, who played well throughout the whole week. Here in Paris, Arthur won his opening match against Cilic in tight straight sets as we predicted. After that, in the second round, Fils defeated Struff in easy straight sets. Arthur is a top 20 player, so he is hoping for a solid result this week to cement his top 20 status. Last year in Paris, Arthur lost his opening match against Altmaier in straight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Zverev is the slight favorite in this matchup, and we agree with that. Sascha is one of the best players in the world right now. We believe that he is a better hard-court player than Fils, and that he will dominate in this match.
That being said, Zverev winning is a value bet.
