ATP Stockholm Day 3 Predictions
Quentin Halys vs Sumit Nagal
Head to head – First Meeting
Sumit Nagal hasn’t won a main draw match since July as the top-ranked Indian seems to be in a slump. The 27-year-old faces Quentin Halys who has been slogging his way in the challenger events since the US Open reaching the finals in two of them out of the four he has played. The Frenchman is a decent ball striker and that should prove pivotal in punching through the defences of Nagal who likes to hang back.
Prediction: Halys in 2
Alejandro Davidovich Fokina vs Thiago Agustin Tirante
Head to head – First Meeting
This should be an exciting match as Alejandro Davidovich Fokina will look to attack from the baseline and Thiago Agustin Tirante will look to defend. That makes this match a mouth-watering prospect as both are exciting talents. The Spaniard is more experienced but on the indoor hard courts, Tirante can be a handful as well as he has shown in the qualifiers. Expect a tight contest with Davidovich Fokina edging on the back of his more aggressive tennis.
Prediction: Davidovich Fokina in 3
Casper Ruud vs Lorenzo Sonego
Head to head – Ruud 4-0 Sonego
Both players haven’t won a single main draw singles match since the US Open which will be concerning for both camps. One of them will have that streak broken and it looks likely the Norwegian who is seeded second here would be the one doing so. Lorenzo Sonego looks woefully out of touch and even though he plays well on hard courts, Ruud will have the experience to steady the ship and get his campaign started on a winning note.
Prediction: Ruud in 3
