ATP Chengdu Day 2 Predictions
Yannick Hanfmann vs Shintaro Mozikuchi
Head to head – First Meeting
Yannick Hanfmann could be the dark horse this week as his game style suits faster courts well. The German has got a fairly easy first round as he faces Shintaro Mozikuchi who is yet to win a match on the ATP main tour. While the Japanese has done well to qualify, expect Hanfmann to win this one.
Prediction: Hanfmann in 2
Christopher O’Connell vs Pavel Kotov
Head to head – O’Connell 0-1 Kotov
Pavel Kotov on paper looks the stronger player but on recent form not so much. Christopher O’Connell is coming into this match after winning a challenger event while Kotov was ousted in the first round at the US Open. Mentally the Australian would be in a more confident mindset and that should help him nab the victory.
Prediction: O’Connell in 3
Fabio Fognini vs Roman Safiullin
Head to head – First Meeting
It is great to see Fabio Fognini still on the tour as he is a fabulous entertainer with his non-chalant game style. The Italian takes on Roman Safiullin who has had a pretty bad year per his standards and you don’t want to be playing Fognini on a bad day. Expect the Italian to turn back the times with a fighting win on a court he generally plays well.
Prediction: Fognini in 3
