WTA Den Bosch Day 3 Predictions Including Bianca Andreescu vs Yue Yuan

Bianca Andreescu returned from another battle with injuries for the French Open and managed to win a couple of rounds. Now it’s time for the grass and she’s already advanced to the round of sixteen in Den Bosch. Facing her will be one of the breakout players of the season, Yue Yuan. Who do you think will make the quarterfinals?

WTA Den Bosch Day 3 Predictions

Zhuoxuan Bai vs Veronika Kudermetova

Head-to-head: First meeting

Veronika Kudermetova’s season has been very disappointing thus far with the Russian sitting at a 7-13 win/loss record by the beginning of June. The grass is usually where she’s at her strongest though and this event in particular – in four previous appearances, she never lost before the quarterfinals and was the runner-up last year. Zhuoxuan Bai played pretty well on grass last year (especially at Wimbledon), but Kudermetova won’t get a better chance to start rebuilding her form.

Prediction: Kudermetova in 2

Donna Vekic vs Greet Minnen

Head-to-head: First meeting

Donna Vekic is such an excellent grass-courter, picking up the title in Nottingham in 2017 and looking dangerous on the surface every year. But Greet Minnen is no slouch either and has a pretty similar playstyle with aggressive shots taken early off the bounce. Seems like Vekic just has more firepower in almost every department though and even though the Belgian grabbed some good match rhythm in Surbiton last week, she might have a hard time taking down the former World No. 19 here.

Prediction: Vekic in 2

Bianca Andreescu vs Yue Yuan

Head-to-head: First meeting

Winning two matches in her first event back (Roland Garros) was definitely a good sign for Bianca Andreescu. The Canadian struggled with the transition to grass in the opening set against Eva Vedder, but ended up winning in three sets. As long as she stays healthy, Andreescu will continue being a threat on the WTA circuit. Yue Yuan qualified for Wimbledon last year and posted a nice first-round win over Diana Shnaider, but Andreescu has a much wider repertoire when she’s playing well.

Prediction: Andreescu in 3
