WTA Rabat Day 2 Predictions Including Camila Osorio vs Elina Avanesyan

Camila Osorio Citi Open

Yue Yuan is the top seed at the WTA 250 in Rabat and will be trying to find some match rhythm ahead of Roland Garros after opening-round losses in Madrid and Rome. Her first opponent is Italian qualifier Camilla Rosatello. We also predict the rest of Monday’s matches in Morocco in a separate article. Who do you think will prevail?

WTA Rabat Day 2 Predictions

Xiyu Wang vs Nuria Brancaccio

Head-to-head: First meeting

Xiyu Wang looked so strong on clay back in 2022, but her last two campaigns have been much weaker. The Chinese was unlucky to run into Iga Swiatek in Madrid or Anastasia Potapova in Rome though. Nuria Brancaccio is a player she should probably take out even on clay, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if she made a small mess of it. After all, the qualifier will be coming into this one with some good rhythm.
Prediction: Wang in 3

Yasmine Kabbaj vs Elisabetta Cocciaretto

Head-to-head: First meeting

Yasmine Kabbaj won a couple of ITF events in Casablanca the past two years, but not much is suggesting that she will be able to rival Elisabetta Cocciaretto here. She actually took a set in her last two Rabat appearances though and was able to stay competitive. But those wild cards were for the qualifying and the Moroccan will probably be outmatched here. Especially by someone as solid as the Italian.
Prediction: Cocciaretto in 2

Yue Yuan vs Camilla Rosatello

Head-to-head: First meeting

Clay brought a bit of a halt to the breakthrough season of Yue Yuan, but she’s still pretty competitive and reached the quarterfinals in Rouen. Camilla Rosatello is definitely the much more natural dirt-baller of the two. But even though she did well to qualify, maybe the weaponry of Yuan will just be too much anyway? The quality gap here might be the deciding factor regardless of the surface.
Prediction: Yuan in 2

Camila Osorio vs Elina Avanesyan

Head-to-head: Osorio 1-0

One thing is certain–this will be a masterclass in point construction. Both ladies love building up rallies on clay courts and will have to work hard to outfox one another. Camila Osorio dominated their only previous meeting in Bogota two years ago with her experience at altitude. Rabat leaves the door open for a potential Elina Avanesyan win, but it still seems like Osorio’s peak game is much stronger.
Prediction: Osorio in 3
