This is a final qualifying round match. The talent is still there for Maja Chwalinska, and it seems like there is space for her slice-and-dice game even at the top of the sport, but struggling to stay healthy is really limiting what she can do. The Pole recently made the final at a stacked ITF in Prague, getting crushed by Denisa Salkova in the championship match. Making it to the main draw would be huge for her and with Aleksandra Krunic also not really at the peak of her powers anymore, she has a decent chance to pull it off.

Kamilla Rakhimova vs Taylor Townsend

Taylor Townsend lost to the 17-year-old super talents of Mirra Andreeva and Brenda Fruhvirtova in Madrid/Rome, but it’s clear that her singles game is still very competitive and she’s closing in on the Top 50 now. She is known for her serve-and-volleying and while it usually isn’t that effective on clay, these days Townsend can hold her own in a rally as well. It’s probably enough to make her the favorite against Kamilla Rakhimova, who’s coming off a solid run at the WTA 125 in Parma.

Sara Sorribes Tormo vs Harriet Dart

Head-to-head: First meeting

Sara Sorribes Tormo usually has to work hard for her wins, but will this match be an exception? The difference in how comfortable both players are on clay is simply off the charts. Harriet Dart was able to take just four games against Katie Boulter last week and doesn’t really have any weapons on this surface. It still might be a bit of a slog though with Sorribes Tormo’s style not designed to put players away quickly. But in the long run the Spaniard should be able to find the win.
