ATP Rome Best Bets Including Medvedev vs Medjedovic

Daniil Medvedev in action ahead of the ATP Monte Carlo Masters.

ATP Rome 1/16-Finals

Hurkacz – Etcheverry: 13.05.2024 16:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting

Hubert Hurkacz has won three of his last five matches. A couple of days ago, Hurkacz won against Nadal as we predicted. So far this season, Hurkacz has had some decent wins on the clay. Last week, Hurkacz lost in the 1/8-Finals of ATP Masters 1000 Madrid against Fritz in straight sets. Before that, Hubert had a solid tournament in Monte Carlo where he reached the 1/8-Finals as well. It is worth mentioning that, earlier in April, Hurkacz won a clay title in Estoril.

Tomas Etcheverry has lost three of his last five matches. Etcheverry is a great clay court player, but he just did look fit and ready recently. We all know how he played last year at the French Open where he lost against Zverev in the quarterfinals. A couple of days ago, Etcheverry had a big challenge in the first round against Seyboth Wild, who has been playing really well lately. However, Etcheverry completely dominated in the first set, winning the first set 6-3. In the second set, Seyboth Wild was 5-1 up, but Tomas did not stop fighting and turned around the second set by winning the match 6-3 7-5.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Hurkacz is a favorite in this match. We predict a really tight match that could go either way. Over the games line is set at 23.5, which we believe is too low.

That being said, over 23.5 games in this match is a value bet.

Medvedev – Medjedovic: 13.05.2024 19:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting

Daniil Medvedev has won four of his last five matches. In his first match here in Rome, Medvedev won against Draper in straight sets as we predicted. He did not serve well, but was just overall a better player. Medvedev also hates playing on the clay, but he had some solid wins last week in Madrid. Last year, Medvedev actually won the title in Rome, which was one of his most surprising titles in his career.

Hamad Medjedovic is a young, talented Serb who is yet to show his potential. So far in Rome, Medjedovic has won all of his matches in straight sets. He had some injury issues, but when he was fit, Medjedovic is one of the best young players on the tour. Before Rome, Medjedovic reached the 2nd round in Madrid as a qualifier. Here in Rome, Hamad won both of his qualification round matches in straight sets. After that, Medjedovic defeated Popyrin convincingly 6-3 6-2. A couple of days ago, Davidovich Fokina also did not have an answer for his game and was defeated by Hamad in straight sets.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Medvedev is a big favorite in this match. However, we believe that Hamad will play without any pressure and could potentially get his biggest win of his young career. We believe that this match could go either way, but we are trusting Hamad to keep this match close.

That being said, Medjedovic covering the games handicap is a value bet.
