Head to Head: First Meeting

Joao Fonseca stunned the sixth seed Lorenzo Sonego in the first round. The  Brazilian edged out the Italian in a tight straight sets match to make this stage. One tiebreak set and a break at the end of the second set moved the wildcard into the second round. Radu Albot needed three sets to overcome his American opponent in the first round. The qualifier dominated the final set to get here.
Prediction: Albot in 3

Thiago Seyboth Wild vs Mariano Navone

Head to Head: First Meeting (main tour) 1-2 (challenger tour)

Thiago Seyboth Wild had a very tough first round match. The Brazilian broke in the first set for the lead, however, then next two sets very tiebreaks to overcome Luca Nardi. Mariano Navone is the fifth seed and eased through in straight sets to get to this stage. Although this is the first meeting on the main tour, the pair have faced each other on the challenger circuit, which the Argentine leads but Wild won the last match played last season.

Francisco Cerundolo vs Federico Coria

Head to Head: 2-3

Francisco Cerundolo is the top seed so had a bye in the first round. Federico Coria had a late replacement in the first round and faced a lucky loser. Coria dispatched Benjamin Bonzi in straight sets. Both these Argentine players have met 5 times on tour, with Coria leading the head to head. Last season was the last time they played, twice, and they won one match each. Cerundolo as the top seed will want to move on and not find himself on the wrong end of a head to head still.
Prediction: Coria in 3
