Tamara Korpatsch had really bad form in February when she lost all of her matches. She stopped her 4-game losing streak yesterday in the first qualification round in Miami. She got lucky with the draw and played against Hontama, where she won in straight sets. Korpatsch did not play her best tennis in this match. She managed to win, but overall she was not really consistent, especially not on her serve. Her opponent tonight, Timofeeva, is a young Russian talent. She showed us how good she was at the Australian Open! After the Australian Open, Timofeeva went on a 5 game losing streak that ended yesterday as well. She displayed her best tennis against Bassols in a match where she won in straight sets. Timofeeva served absolutely incredibly and just dominated throughout the whole match. We believe that she will have a good tournament once again and that she will win tonight easily! She is not in the best form, but she showed us yesterday how good she is and there is no reason for her not to repeat the performance again tonight!

Nadia Podoroska had a pretty tough match in the first qualification round in Miami. She won yesterday 2-1 against Riera. Podoroska did not play a good first set. She had to fight back into the match and had to play for almost three hours! Her opponent, Osorio, also had a tough first round qualification match. Osorio also won against Kessler in three sets. However, they did not even play for 2 hours. Osorio had to play against Kessler and the crowd. Apart from the second set, Osorio played a perfect match! Her backhand was perfect, and she also converted almost every single break point she had. We believe that Osorio showed better tennis, and she did not spend so much time in the first round. After playing such a long match, you need a break. Since they are playing qualification rounds, there is not much time! Both of them did not even have a 24-hour break, and it will be interesting to see Podoroska play yet again! We believe that Osorio will win tonight!

Taylor Townsend played a very good match last night against Pigossi. She played her game really well. Townsend loves to serve and volley, which is really unusual for women’s tennis. Townsend managed to get into the main tournament in Indian Wells last week. She had a perfect qualification tournament there. Her opponent, Bektas, did not play many matches this year as she was struggling with an injury. She won here easily in the first round, but we are not sure if she is 100% healthy. We believe that Townsend is playing really well at the moment and that she will win easily in front of her home crowd!
