ATP Buenos Aires Day 2 Predictions Including Arthur Fils vs Dusan Lajovic

Arthur Fils in action ahead of the ATP Antwerp Open.

Day 2 at the ATP event in Buenos Aires will not feature the top seeds yet but it should still be a day full of very exciting and high level action. Carlos Alcaraz is the clear favorite to win the title here this week, but there’s plenty of other strong clay court players in the field, including a lot of Argentinian players looking to win a title at home.

ATP Buenos Aires Day 2 Predictions

Diego Schwartzman vs Daniel Elahi Galan

Head-to-head: Schwartzman 1-0 Galan

Schwartzman has been in a long slump and is currently ranked #116. Last week in Cordoba, he lost his first match against a lower ranked countryman and this week he has another opportunity to try and start getting his career back on track. This match against Galan should be very close, it’s a very good opportunity for Schwartzman to snap his losing streak and get some momentum going.
Prediction: Schwartzman in 3

Yannick Hanfmann vs Alejandro Tabilo

Head-to-head: first meeting

The two players are separatred by two spots in the rankings and both tend to play their best tennis on clay, although Tabilo won his first career title earlier this year in Auckland on hard courts. It should be a very close match, but perhaps at the moment Tabilo has the slight edge given how both players started the season.
Prediction: Tabilo in 3

Luciano Darderi vs Mariano Navone

Head-to-head: Darderi 1-1 Navone

Darderi had by far the best week of his career last week, lifting his first ever ATP level trophy in Cordoba against all odds. After such a high, it will be tough to get going again, both physically and mentally, so soon after, which should give Navone a great opportunity here. Navone is solid on clay and should be able to pull through here given the circumstances.
Prediction: Navone in 3

Arthur Fils vs Dusan Lajovic

Head-to-head: Fils 1-0 Lajovic

Fils is one of the most promising young players on tour and he has shown the ability to excel on clay, where he won his only career title so far in Lyon last year. Lajovic is a solid veteran on this surface and won’t be an easy out, but Fils clearly has more firepower and should be able to start a run here.
Prediction: Fils in 2
