Felix Auger-Aliassime at the French Open

We are down to the last four at the ATP Montpellier Open 2024, and it is coming to an exciting close. Three of the top four seeds have made it to this round, and there’s no clear favourite to take home the title. As ever, we at LWOT preview and predict both the semifinal clashes for you, including Felix Auger-Aliassime vs reigning champion Alexander Bublik. But who do you think will advance?

ATP Montpellier Semifinal Predictions

Borna Coric vs Holger Rune

Head-to-Head: First Meeting

Holger Rune has done well to put aside his disappointing Australian Open 2024 run to start pretty strongly here as the top seed. The Dane looks in fine nick from the baseline and will start as the slight favourite in this match, owing to his slightly more aggressive style of play from the baseline.

Borna Coric has played well in both his matches, but Rune presents the toughest challenge to him so far. The Croat will likely try to beat Rune from the baseline, but it doesn’t look likely he will be able to withstand the constant pressure on his serve. Expect Rune to march on to the final.

Prediction: Rune in 2

Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Alexander Bublik

Head-to-Head: Auger-Aliassime 2-1 Bublik

Both players enter this tournament on the back of similar outings this week in Montpellier. Felix Auger-Aliassime loves to play here and the conditions suit his aggressive baseline play. Alexander Bublik is as unorthodox as they came, but if he dials in his serve, this match looks likely to be a classic.

The Canadian looked in decent touch in his quarterfinal match while Bublik did struggle against his fellow countryman. Bublik will be out powered from the baseline and Auger-Aliassime should be privy enough to all the variations Bublik may throw his way. Expect a topsy turvy battle with the Canadian locking in when it matters.

Prediction: Auger-Aliassime in 3
