This year, the ATP 250 in Umag doesn’t feature any top players in the world, with #33 Jiri Lehecka heading the field as the #1 seed. With that said, it features a lot of players who love playing on clay and will be giving it their all for some much needed ranking points. This second day of the tournament is sure to provide plenty of excitement. One of the biggest names is action will be Stan Wawrinka, who at 38 is still fighting hard to stay relevant at ATP Tour level and has been playing very decently lately. We also predict the rest of the day’s matches in a separate article.
ATP Umag Day 2 Predictions
Albert Ramos-Vinolas vs Jaume Munar
Head-to-head: Ramos 5-0 Munar
On paper, this would be a great chance for Munar to finally get a win in this matchup, with Ramos likely tired (both physically and mentally) after a run to the final last week where he lost in heartbreaking fashion to Pedro Cachin. But there’s a reason the head-to-head is 5-0 with only one set won by Munar thus far. He finds it very hard to play Ramos and even this might not be enough to push him over the edge here.
Prediction: Ramos-Vinolas in 3
Marc-Andrea Huesler vs Federico Coria
Head-to-head: Coria 1-0 Huesler
Neither player has been having a good year, wiht Huesler in particular in terrible form lately, coming into this tournament on the back of three consecutive defeats. Coria hasn’t been particularly impressive himself lately, but on clay he probably has the edge in this matchup, even if it’s very likely to be close and come down to details in the end.
Prediction: Coria in 3

Stan Wawrinka vs Filip Misolic
Head-to-head: first meeting
Wawrinka had a disappointing campaign in Gstaad, but he’s been steadily improving and moving up the rankings throughout the year in general. He has a very good opportunity to make a run here in Umag and will certainly be up for it in this first round match.
Prediction: Wawrinka in 2
