WTA Bad Homburg Day 4 Predictions Including Iga Swiatek vs Jil Teichmann

Iga Swiatek at WTA Indian Wells

Day 3 at the WTA event in Bad Homburg will feature the remaining four round of 16 matches, including that of world #1 Iga Swiatek. Under normal circumstances, Swiatek would be the massive favorite to win this tournament, but grass as a surface is a great equalizer here and gives the rest of the field a lot of hope of beating the Eorld #1.

WTA Bad Homburg Day 3 Predictions

Katerina Siniakova vs Evgeniya Rodina

Head-to-head: Siniakova 1-0 Rodina

On paper, this is a very one-sided match. Siniakova is far higher ranked and the clearly superior player; she also won with relative ease when the pair faced, even if that was all the way back in 2015. Siniakova isn’t exactly known for her grasscort game but she should still be able to pull through here.
Prediction: Siniakova in 2

Mayar Sherif vs Lucia Bronzetti

Head-to-head: first meeting

Although Sherif is far higher ranked, this should be a very close match. Neither player is particularly fond of playing on grass, but both showed a very good level in their opening round match here. It should be a match decided by the finest of details.
Prediction: Sherif in 3

Leylah Fernandez vs Anna Blinkova

Head-to-head: Fernandez 1-0 Blinkova

Fernandez hasn’t yet managed to back up her US Open 2021 final run and grass/Wimbledon is unlikely to be where it happens. Even at lower level events like this one she’s been struggling for the most part and on grass she’s unlikely to make a strong run this week. Blinkova should rightly be considered the slight favorite here.
Prediction: Blinkova in 3

Iga Swiatek vs Jil Teichmann

Head-to-head: Swiatek 2-0 Teichmann

Swiatek hass been dominating the WTA tour for a while, but grass is the one surface she doesn’t really have a grip on. Teichmann has a far higher chance than she would have on any other surface, but it’s still a slim one; you have to imagine a player as good as Swiatek will eventually figure out grass and get some great results on it. Her first round over last year’s Wimbledon semifinalist Tatjana Maria is certainly a great omen in that regard.
Prediction: Swiatek in 2
