The field in Stuttgart has whittled down to just four players. Jan-Lennard Struff remains in pursuit of his first ATP title at 33 and will take on fourth seed Hubert Hurkacz. While the other semifinal will see Frances Tiafoe and Marton Fucsovics lock horns for the first time since 2020. Who do you think will reach Sunday’s final at the BOSS Open?
ATP Stuttgart Semifinal Predictions
Frances Tiafoe vs Marton Fucsovics
Head-to-head: Fucsovics 2-1 Tiafoe
Marton Fucsovics is having some week in Stuttgart. Having eased through the qualifying rounds, Fucsovics has gathered a handy list of upsets. He defeated Denis Shapovalov in his first-round match from a set down and then recorded his third career Top-10 win by beating Taylor Fritz in Froday’s quarterfinal. It’s the first time he’s managed to conquer the last-eight hurdle in Stuttgart having twice exited at this stage. But Fucsovics’ cause will be facing a true test of physical and mental toughness against Frances Tiafoe.
The third-seeded American produced a gutsy win in the quarterfinal, battling from a set down to beat Lorenzo Musetti 6-7 7-6 6-2. Winning ugly is an attribute of a champion and Tiafoe demonstrated his resilience in pressure-filled moments in that match. Fucsovics has hit a high ceiling this week, and the danger coming into this match, is that Tiafoe ahsn’t even switched gears. Expect Tiafoe to raise his level and have this match under control.
Prediction: Tiafoe in 2

Hubert Hurkacz vs Jan-Lennard Struff
Head-to-head: Struff 1-0 Hurkacz
A little bit of context here. Jan-Lennard Struff’s run hasn’t really come out of nowhere. This stemmed from his superb clay-court season where he reached the final in Madrid as a lucky loser and tallied 14 wins on the dirt. He’s made a smooth transition to grass. Struff has served 46 aces this week (broken twice) and while Hubert Hurkacz isn’t far off in the ace count, the Pole is making his serve work an extra shift.
Maybe the stars have aligned for Struff to have his coronation this weekend. It’s on home soil. Two of the much-fancied favorites were knocked out, clearing his path. He is on the doorstep of his first ATP title at 33 and a Top-20 breakthrough. His semifinal opponent Hurkacz looks off-color and shaky this season. Could it really happen? Possibly.
Prediction: Struff in 2
